My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm originally from Rochester, New York, moved to Boston in 2010 after graduating from Purdue (bonus points if you know where that is). As a result I spend a fair amount of time cursing my lack of Big Ten Network, but I don't seem to care enough to pay for it. Being from upstate New York makes me a Bills fan (you heard me), and I can't stand the Patriots. I don't mind if you're a Pats fan, as long as you don't mind arguing about how Tom Brady is overrated (he is). I'm not sure it's possible to live in Boston without supporting at least ONE of the sports teams, so I have adopted the Celtics (seems like they need some love). I'll root for the Sox and Bruins, and the games are fun, but I can't seem to care enough about either sport to actively follow them.

My sense of humor is probably best defined as a casual sarcasm. I like to say ridiculous things as casually as possible and just wait for people to notice and react. My mind goes to some pretty random places at times, and I say ridiculous things pretty often.

I'm always looking for excuses to get out of the house and try new things. Recently I've been doing some rec leagues, but I'm in the market for a new hobby (any suggestions?). My hobby this past year was learning to play guitar, which I'm still playing but I'm looking for something new to shake things up. Before that I was actually doing stand-up comedy for a while (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3i6iWbgqyVo... an example of my previously mentioned sense of humor), but I got a bit burnt out on fighting/begging for stage time.

It seems that the longer I spend writing this, the more boring and monotonous it sounds, so I'll cut myself off. Suffice it to say that I'm an interesting and exciting individual who is exactly who you're looking for (trust me, I'm a guy on the internet).
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
By day I'm a mechanical engineer. I do R&D type work. I have my own cubicle... it's ok to be impressed.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh, dancing poorly, karaoke, making obscure pop culture references, bad puns (in the best way possible)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

movies: Snatch, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Whatever Works, Big Fish (Most things Tim Burton)

TV: The Office, Always Sunny, Arrested Development, South Park, Louie, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Psych, Modern Family, Parks and Recreation.

Music: Ben Folds, Barenaked Ladies, Foo Fighters, Guns n Roses, Outkast, Presidents of the United States of America

Books: I tend to go hot and cold with the time I spend reading, but in recent years I've gotten through the GoT books, freakonomics, 1984, some poorly written series about children fighting to the death...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Free time
2. A creative outlet
3. An excuse to do something stupid
4. Background noise (how else will I drown out my own thoughts?)
5. Deadlines (adds to the thrill of procrastination)
6. Take-out
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Pleasantly doing nothing in particular - I tend to keep pretty busy during the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I put hot sauce on my pb&js... Don't judge, it's delicious. Also apparently I have the dietary habits of a 10 year old.
