I know that the best part of a house party is always in the kitchen. And that good art is defined by how much you think about it the next day. And that pugs are the cutest domestic pet. And that the mother of invention is frustration, as in, "there has *got* to be a better way to do this... let's invent it."

These days I'm am East Coast/West Coast. I'm in New York City or SF depending on the month as I set up a new business with offices on both coasts.

I really try to listen.

I am working with four life goals right now:

Gratitude
Forgiveness (for myself and others)
Integrity (always take the high road -- there is less traffic)
Ease (if it is not working, let it be)

I love to talk politics and made it to the Playa for the first time this year (used to mock it, now I get it). I am a fan of brown liquor based cocktails, am enjoying mixology as it nears jumping the shark and want most of all for everyone to find joy in life.

I start companies and build communities that I am hoping will someday be a movement. I recently sold a book to Random House and even finished it. I own my own house, love my circle of friends and am so damn happy that I live in SF and NYC at the same time.

I know where great pupusas are, am learning how to surf and can start a fire with most things. I like playing with my friend's tots, doing the dishes and hiking. Did a 23 mi, three night trek on Kauai last month that kicked my ass but put me basically in Eden, so I'll do more of that.

I find good bars with ease, but know too little about good music. My family lived in Nigeria for some time, so I know more than most New England boys about West African art, music and dance (which is really not saying much when you think about it, but my mom taught me to dance when I was 2 so I am not too shy to get on the floor).

That I try to have a real conversation with anyone who is interesting.

Resiliency. Leatherman. Books on tape. Organic gardening. Good shoes. Play in conversation, in bed and in spirit.

I tried to move out of California for the first four years I lived here. And then I figured it out.

My sense of the dynamics of OKCupid is that most women will wait for a man to reach out to them.

I will play that game, but I love the notion that I am only in the driver seat half the time. In my experience relationships work best when you trade off: one of us is in charge for a bit. Then the other. With lots of silliness and listening all the way. I do like to take charge but I also love a take charge woman who will match me in that exchange.

Mainly I am a good sport and if you are sharp, funny, hot, intuitive and a pleasant surprise, then I'll do my level best to be the same.
