I am a single co-parent of 3 boys. I have them 50% of the time. The time I spend with them is precious to me. My job as a father and parent is my top priority right now. My boys are truly incredible. They’re intelligent, kind, thoughtful, funny, considerate, incredibly interesting and just plain fun to be around. We really enjoy snowboarding, mountain biking sometimes, playing ping pong, doing homework, watching movies and watching and playing sports together. I am so very proud of them and feel very fortunate to have them. They really do keep me young and I appreciate it.
Music has been a big part of my life. I love listening to music and seeing live shows of all kinds. I love Lucinda Williams, Jenny Lewis, Jayhawks, Wilco, Vampire Weekend, Pogues, Billy Bragg, Tom Waits, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Alabama Shakes, Yo La Tango, Brother Ali, Muse, Metric, Camera Obscura, Drive By Truckers, Soul Asylum, Replacements, Bob Mould, Husker Du, Low, Trip Shakespear, Trampled By Turtles, Polica, Mumford and Sons, Jack Knife and the Sharps, Buzzcocks, Neko Case, Nick Cave, Johnny Cash, Louis Armstrong, Camper Van Beethoven, Billy Holiday, Paul Morrissey, The Smiths, Elvis Costello, Buddy Guy, Of Monsters and Men… I could go on. I love to play music for others who like to listen.
When I don’t have my boys, I spend a lot of time at home reading and watching movies. I love Cormac McCarthy, Don Delilo, Philip Roth, Jon Krakauer, Richard Dawkins, Albert Camu, Stephen Hawking, Richard Ford and so many more. The most recent books that I have read that have really stood out are Walking With the Wind by John Lewis, Brother, I’m Dying by Edwidge Danticat and In the Place of Justice by Wilbert Rideau, but how about Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie or Malcolm X A Life of Reinvention by Manning Marable, or Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan, or Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, I could go on.
I love films by Jim Jarmusch especially Down by Law and Stranger Than Paradise and John Sayles, especially Matewan and Lone Star, Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionare & Trainspotting), Pedro Aldomovar, Quentin Tarantino (Kill Bill and more). Some other movies that I have really enjoyed are 35 Shots of Rum, Le Havre, A Separation, Money Ball, Let the Right One In, Four Lions, Pans Labyrinth, Another Year, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, The Prophet, Cell 211, Mulholland Drive, Somewhere, The Last Station, The White Ribbon, Amelie, In the Loop, Secretary, City of God, I could go on. Most of these aren’t really recent because I watch almost exclusively on-line these days. Thank technology and science for Netflix.
I have done a fair amount of traveling, both for work and for pleasure. I really like Northern California and Napa Valley, South Dakota, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Pomplona, Spain, New York, northern MN, Colorado, Buenos Aires, Chicaogo, Mexico....
I am looking for someone who finds me and what I do interesting and has an interest in knowing more about me. I can be charming and funny. My friends would say that I am a very good guy, hard working, responsible, honest, down to earth, caring, supportive, conscientious, and fun to be with. I am financially secure and take good care of myself. I like to have fun and share it with others. I am interested in others and like to hear what they have to say. I am a good listener. I think I am good at making people feel at ease and that they can talk to me. I exercise regularly, eat healthy foods and am a good and devoted father.
I read this on someone else’s profile, but I strongly agree, I am tired of writing about myself. I also read this on someone else’s profile and agree, that this on-line dating is not for the faint of heart. I’d really like to find someone soon and move on with enjoying life with them, wandering the museums, taking long walks outdoors and short walks too, watching movies together, cooking together, dining with, exploring new wines, reading together, maybe do a weekend away together or more, stay home together, maybe cuddle and hopefully more.
