My self-summary
I’m seeking a woman who has a desire to grow, play, and share new adventures. Someone who is honest, confident, generous, passionate, playful, humorous, and compassionate. Someone who at times wishes to escape into nature and other times loves to get out and about to enjoy art, music, and local cuisine. Ultimately, I’m looking for a partner to venture with me into intellectual, creative, spiritual, and philosophical realms.

I would describe myself as humorous, free spirited, open minded, passionate, affectionate, sensual, and sometimes just plain silly. I have my unique and silly quirks, and enjoy them in others. I write creatively and perform and direct in the visual arts when I can. I’m a bit of a film/book geek. I enjoy living a Zen like lifestyle--simple and only what’s needed. My work is in therapy with teens and their families.

I’m definitely not your typical macho, Type A dude. I challenge society’s view of masculinity by accepting that it’s okay for men to be sensitive and compassionate in addition to being strong and leaving the toilet seat up. ;-) Instead of sports, drinking beer, and hanging with the dudes, you’ll find I have a lot of time for conversation and hikes in the mountains.

-watching surreal or foreign films
-laughing at myself
-trying something new
-working with troubled teens that drive me crazy at times! I work as a therapist on an equine therapy ranch for boys.
-reading 3 books at once
-discovering weird music on Spotify
I’m really good at
-playing air guitar
-being nice to animals
-appreciating beauty and eros in and around me

-my own eclectic style?
-long eyelashes
-a Peter Pan gleam in my eyes
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Philosophy, religious/spiritual history, quantum physics. eastern psychology, native american or indigenous histories/practices, world history, sociology. Film theory. Art history. Autobiographies. More of a non-fiction guy, but do enjoy sci fi, mystery, horror or fantasy now and then. I read everyday.

Late obsessions-lineages of psychological theories, Tibetan Buddhist practices, quantum theories, film theory, autobiographies, pre-christian europe history, existentialist thought, and fun stuff like graphic novels, humorous satire, or brain trash stuff like music mags.

I am a HUGE film geek.
Some favorite directors-Lynch, Woody Allen, Lars Von Trier, Aronofsky, Coppola, Peter Greenway, Kurosawa, Spike Lee, Kubrick, Wes Anderson, Gondry are just a few. If I ever could be a film director I would-thus my appreciation and obsession with film.

Don't do regular tv/cable, but watch most HBO/AMC series. Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire. Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead. Series that have a great character story arch.

I am an avid music freak. Too many to list. I go through phases. Been to lots and lots of gigs across the country. I will travel to see bands. Seen over a couple hundred live shows. Favorite place in the world to see music-Red Rocks, CO.

Enjoy pretty much everything except polka! There is always at least one tune in each genre that is good.

Here is some some stuff on ipod-
Radiohead, Jack White solo, Gorillaz, Danger Mouse, Tribe Called Quest, Primus, David Lynch (yes he has an album!), Kronus Quartet, Lou Reed, The Cramps, Tangerine Dream, Sonic Youth, Fatboy Slim, Massive Attack, Floyd, Beethoven, The Orb, Talking Heads, Nick Cave, Bjork, PJ Harvey, De la Soul, Husker Du, Replacements, Bad Brains, Beastie Boys, Queens of the Stone Age, David Bowie, Public Enemy, Neil Young, James Brown, Loop Guru, Bongwater, Ween, Zappa, AIM, Velvet Underground, White Stripes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Morphine, KRS-ONE, Chemical Brothers, The Who, Miles Davis, Philip Glass, Thievery Corporation, Johnny Cash.

I like music artists who use allegory, poetry, mythos, cause contemplation, experiment, or give a political message to ponder.
Dylan, Cave, and Cohen are my musical rabbis.

I love Asian, Mexican, and Italian cuisine. Especially sushi!!! Nothing like a good mocha.

I also like experimental/surreal theater.

Always a fan of burlesque fashion and performance. Lost art. Seems like there is a scene of it in Tucson I have noticed? Tattoos on women can be sexy. Women who create their own style, I feel are very attractive.

In all reality, what we all may prefer, or look like, I feel it should not really matter. I am not going to alienate someone because they do not dig what I do, dress like I do, or do what I do. One can have a beautiful relationship where both have very different styles, and/or hobbies/interests.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
-That I am on a weird small planet, floating in this huge universe! How strange, and why?
-Music, art, experimental theater, and film.
-Foreign places I hope to visit.
-We are all here for a brief time...meaning no time to loose! Take risks.
-How could I create the next-Theater of the Absurd?
-Psychoanalytical theories to apply to crazy teens
-getting a piece of land off the grid and doing something amazing
-complex Buddhist teachings
-writing my next script or story
-creating or going on a new adventure
-wondering if I really am actually in a David Lynch dream sequence
On a typical Friday night I am
Decompressing from the week.
Cooking up something, while watching something funny to make me laugh for the day.
Looking to see what is going down in Tucson for weekend.
Reading in the bathtub, while my crazy cat tries to do the same.
Probably on here hoping to get invited out to do something!
Telling myself to get into a meditative state and chill.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
As a kid, I used to dress up as spider man, and run around my neighborhood at night freaking people out (but secretly hoping I could solve a crime!).
Also, Just FYI. In process of quitting smoking. Wont do it around you. I am trying with the E cig.
