I'm really into sports, science, and SportScience. I'm a diehard
fan of the Boston teams and anyone who's on my fantasy football
team. I also play rec basketball and soccer and will play pretty
much any sport for fun. I try to be as active as possible and love
biking on the Schuylkill.
I also enjoy cooking when I have time. I'm not big into following
recipes; I usually just throw things together and hope for the
best. I've actually stumbled into incredibly good falafel and chili
using this method. I'd offer to make one of them for you, but I
have no idea what I did.
Full disclosure: I'm finishing up school this summer and am
unlikely to stay in Philly beyond that, so I'm not really looking
for anything serious right now.
What I’m doing with my life
I just made a major change in my career path and decided to follow
in the footsteps of Elon Musk, Sergey Brin, Larry Page, and many
other, less famous people (I'll let you figure out what exactly
that means). Right now I'm not exactly sure what I want to do for
my career but I'm working on figuring it out.
I’m really good at
Mario Kart (64, duh), Connect Four, Tetris, whistling the Harry
Potter theme song, rattling off obscure facts. Did you know that in
a room with 30 people in it, there's a 71% chance that two of them
have the same birthday?
The first things people usually notice about me
I smile a lot. I've also been told by many friends and multiple
strangers that I look like Andy Samberg.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Dystopian sci-fi books, Harry Potter, and Life of Pi are
some of my favorites. I also read a lot of nonfiction books; even
though I haven't formally studied them, I think psychology and
economics are really interesting. I also like to read online
articles on sites like Cracked and The Onion.
Movies: Forrest Gump, Shawshank Redemption, Office Space, Little
Miss Sunshine, Trading Places, Mrs. Doubtfire, the recent Batman
and Marvel comics movies, Space Jam, the Sandlot, and many more. I
like most comedies and am very fond of crappy sports movies.
Shows: I don't watch a ton of TV but I like comedies. South Park,
The League, Seinfeld, Modern Family, and Chappelle's Show (RIP) are
some of my favorites.
Music: I have pretty eclectic taste. The playlist I've been
listening to lately in the lab includes music by Avicii, Adele, the
Jackson 5, Eminem, Imagine Dragons, and the Killers, if that's any
Food: Some of my favorites are Mediterranean, Thai, Indian,
Italian, Mexican, and Brazilian. I also like all the standard
American stuff. I hate raw/undercooked meat (sorry sushi lovers).
The six things I could never do without
Also, if you've seen my diary around, please let me know. I lost it
a couple years ago and I feel like I lost part of my soul. Thanks!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Who wins in a fight: a polar bear or a grizzly bear?
Do people in the UK walk on the left side of the
Why is the dog man's best friend while the equally smart pig is a
walking pack of bacon?
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching a movie or sporting event (right now most likely an NBA
game) with friends. I've recently gotten into games like Settlers
of Catan and Dominion so I'll play those too occasionally.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I prefer the bottom of the muffin. No, seriously.
