My self-summary
My name is Doug. While never married and enjoying the last days of bachelorhood, finding the one feels right around the corner. In fact, I can see it coming. My personality traits include patience, communicative and a long-term thinker. Some of my interests include following sports, taking daily walks or some form of exercise, cooking and movies. Eating at a hole in the wall restaurant or going dancing are both activities I also enjoy.

My hope is to find a life partner where we compliment each other. It's hard to articulate in terms of who that special someone would be, although it will be pretty obvious when I see her; furthermore, I am open to traits that I wasn't intending to find, which seems to be happening more and more lately.. This special someone would be a bit more outgoing than I am along with being independent emotionally and financially and knows we can really assist one another in being more than the sum of our parts.

The relationship would be quick in terms of courting, because we are ready, including spiritually physically, emotionally and mentally. The most important thing in my life is being at ease. Together, we can form a partnership that helps us achieve what we are here to achieve.

The Bay Area is my place of birth and upbringing in a small town called Monte Sereno, between Los Gatos and Saratoga. It is where I currently live in a cottage on the beautiful property of my birth. Although not my preference, it is nice to see what one misses while growing up and how perspectives change, including my appreciation towards the land, oak trees, birds and squirrels. Growing up the youngest of 5 and coming from a pretty dynamic family has impacted me quite a bit.

Other places I have called home: Los Angeles for college, 1 year in Taiwan and Hong Kong after college, San Jose and San Francisco for 10 years and recently Guangzhou for two of the past 6 years teaching and developing my services business.
What I’m doing with my life
Accepting and dealing with the confusion of life's paradoxes. Figuring things out in as smooth a manner in terms of mind, body and spirit. My newest passion is Is'ness. In fact, being at ease is my primary focus. Second and third include finding someone special as well as developing my business in order to continue doing what I desire and earn the living I desire.

What makes me unique
My schedule includes meditation, walking, weekky yoga and cooking reasonably healthy food. My upbringing included being raised Catholic which helped initiate me into spirituality; after leaving for college, spirituality fell off the radar screen until my early 20's where it gradually started becoming more important. My home environment is important to me (hey I am a Taurus) since I spend a lot of time doing the things I love at home. My hope is to make a positive impact on everyone I meet and get my needs met in the process.

Continually learning about myself and enjoying life. Hoping to be as successful as I can without needing to be. Building my freelance, consulting and teaching practice with bootstrap financing.
I’m really good at
Showing Patience, resourcefulness and foresight. Learning about myself with more and more 'aha' moments. Visually imagining success. Living a sensual life. Verbal communication.

Hobbies include cooking, hiking, riding bikes, tennis, social dancing (bachata, salsa, swing, foxtrot, waltz, Argentine tango), giving massage. Astrology and numerology- anything that is pretty easy to learn that helps me make sense of the world. Do you know your Chinese astrology sign or your Numerology life path or attitude #? Feel free to ask me about it or let me know what you believe in.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes get the most compliments, although sometimes they say my eyes are so serious, :). Maybe it is my voice. Patience with people comes naturally to me, in most cases. For those ladies who like bald men, come on, admit, about 10% of you, it would be that!

Some say I look spiritual. :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Just saw White Palace for the first time in a while with Susan Sarandon and James Spader. It has been put in my top 10. The chemistry is pretty unbelievable. Recent movies include "I Am Love", an Italian film which is now in my top 5 or 10 movies of all time. Also saw "On the Waterfront" in full, which is also in my top 10. "The Hangover" was pretty funny, especially the scene towards the end when the confident guy was starting to lose it in the desert and was calling the bachelor's fiance.

Movies : The Matrix (especially interactions between Neo and three of the other main characters: the Oracle, Trinity and Morpheus); Just saw My Cousin Vinnie, Life of Pi, The Girl Next Door, Sleepwalking with Me, Leap Year (very cute Romantic Comedy, Mao's Last Dancer, Forest Gump, Sideways, Crash, Terms of Endearment, Saturday Night Fever, Titanic, Animal House, Caddyshack, The Truman Show, The Cable Guy (highly underrated), Dumb and Dumber, Legally Wed, Management, Dirty Dancing, Fargo, The Godfather, Goodfellas, Its a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Sex and Other Drugs, Old School, The Secret (from a spiritual perspective), Pretty Woman, Fargo, etc
Note: As you can see, very eclectic and not always the most mature of films.

TV includes HBOgo : Enlightened, Hung, The Killing, The Mentalist,

Books: Just read Neal Donald Walsh's book on Holistic Living. Also read "In Her Shoes" by Jennifer Weiner and "On the Way to the Wedding" by Julia Quinn. "A Separate Reality", Finding Your Soul Mate by Michael, Here at the End of the World We learn To Dance by Lloyd Jones, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Buddhism: Plain and Simple, Sex and Psychic Sexual Energy by Betty Bethards, My first book was James and The Giant Peach. The first really interesting book I can remember reading was The Godfather. I enjoyed the movies too, especially the first one.

Music: Classical is what I listen to most; now - KDFC is on most of the time. Bands include U2, Marvin Gaye, the Beatles, Whitney Houston (when she gets way up there), Dave Mathews Band, Lynard Skynard, The Eagles, Phil Collins, New age stuff, even some country. Adele, Lady Gaga are talented.

Food: Korean Food is my favorite (if I had one meal to eat), Thai, Chinese is the only food I can eat every day for months and months but even that can get old; Cheese Burgers, good Pizza; fruits and veggies at every meal except breakfast. Peaches (2 week window during late summer) where there is nothing better (especially when I haven't eaten sweets in a while), bananas. Smoothies and juicing are great. Raw Food is something I am getting into, along with eating range fed beef.

Just a note about drinking. Although I don't drink (never was motivated to learn how to drink in moderation, if you catch my drift), dating someone who drinks in moderation is ok. It wouldn't probably be a fit if the person consumes a lot. However, there have been drinkers around me so it feels relatively comfortable to be around them. Not really into going to the bar scene, though. Obviously, being around non-drinkers is ok, too.

Travel:
I have been to about 10 countries in Asia, including Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. In Europe, I have visited Germany. My plan is to visit England, Ireland and Spain. Italy would be nice too.
The six things I could never do without
Notes for/from coaching, My book Buddhism Plain and Simple, my laptop and an internet connection (now my Samsung), pen and paper, meditation, carob chip, figs and smoothies (which includes carob powder, bananas, apples, walnuts, hemp-chia-flax seeds, coconut oil, purple yam powder and water), a good movie, ...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to be at ease. How to be happy. How to reach my current desires: marrying the right woman, right now, having my freelancing and consulting business full and filled which would include teaching and packaging my "Darkness is the Stairway to Heaven" class which is about abundance, non-resistance and how you really can change your life right now- I did and do! Being at ease during windfalls and pitfalls. Wondering why it is taking so long for the woman of my dreams to present herself. I am a patient guy, but my goodness. HeHe. What I can do to encourage her to present herself.
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching TV (romantic comedy movie, sports, PBS documentary), on the internet or cooking or eating a snack after a meal, going out for a nice meal, maybe even dancing or going for a nice walk. Sometimes, I am doing the laundry.

A possible first date would be meeting for coffee, being honest with each other to see if we are a match. Continually being honest with each other while going for dinner, dancing, a movie, the beach, etc on the next several dates , as well as emails, text messages and phone calls.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Although astrology and numerology are important to me, first and foremost are abundance and is'ness. With that said, Taurus and year of the Horse are my Western and Chinese astrology signs. If you are a virgo, capricorn, or cancer as well as Chinese year of the tiger, dog, pig or goat, that's great because we would be a good match. Pisces Goat (that would make you 35or 47) would be ideal. My venus is in pisces (this is supposedly very important for relationships) and mars is in taurus. My moon is in Virgo and was just told that moon sign compatibility is crucial since a woman's emotions lies in her Moon sign. What is your moon sign? If you know the time of your birth, you can do your chart for free online. Best compatible moon signs are capricorn, taurus, and virgo. Also, since my birth order is the youngest, it would be great if you are the oldest.

After recently reading about numerology, the following are about my 6 numbers, based on my name and dob:
Soul: 1 - personally victories are important and validation is important.
Personality: 7 - an enigma, takes time to know them, privacy and a love of nature and alone time.
Power name : 8 - opinionated, appearance is important and drawn to nice things, dependable and direct; important not to blame others.
Birthday: 3 - upbeat and playful, use humor if they do public speaking, important for their partners to be good listeners.
Lifepath (most important # for matching) is 2 - able to count on them, important that others get along, thus they make good counselors and mediators and business with heart, this number is about love, extremely intuitive; have to guard against giving too much or they will feel miserable, their partners should guard against taking too much from them and should remind themselves to give back, otherwise 2's will be exhausted.
and Attitude is 7 - observers, producer/director types, you will be drawn to them since they are silent and watching you, loves the ocean and work where they can travel, important for them to find spirit.
What are yours?

Attending several tantra yoga weekends was helpful. Managing what I have learned there with Buddhist principles, meditation, mindfulness, law of attraction along with a moderate Catholic upbringing keeps me busy in terms of determing what I believe and how I want to be in he Universe.

You are a good listener. You are a talker. Your heart is open or opening. You feel like we would be a good match. You know that even though there is a lot of criteria we could look for in terms of astrology, numerology and more, that we can feel that it is right. You know yourself. You are feeling intrigued or at least a bit curious and my profile resonates with you.
