I am laughing, a little spastic, and quick-witted.

My Self-Summary

Seeking an attractive, mostly fit, intelligent man aged 35 - 48 with a fabulous sense of humor. I am not into motorcycles or NASCAR and I am not a church-goer. PLEASE DON”T RESPOND IF YOU DON”T HAVE A PHOTO POSTED. After all, you see mine, it’s only fair!

A little bit about me: I'm pretty down to earth. I have a great job, a beautiful bungalow and two pets that make living alone a lot more fun. Things are good.

I prefer spring and fall to summer and winter. I can't stand to stay inside on beautiful days. I like to exercise, but am dealing with some chronic issues that make it hard to do so regularly. (Don’t worry it’s nothing contagious or life-threatening.) I am environmentally conscious: I recycle just about everything and drive a Prius. I like to give back to the community and support causes I believe in. I like roller coasters but Ferris wheels scare me to death. I love red wine, dark chocolate and graham crackers dipped in milk. I like to work on the house and yard, and am thinking of buying a table saw and/or a compound miter saw.

I am a spiritual, but not religious person. I don’t practice anything in particular, but I strive daily to achieve my fullest potential as a human; physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, social, etc…. I strive to be present to the present and just experience life as it is because it’s all good (even the bad stuff!). I make every effort to learn from life’s lessons while keeping a smile on my face. If it’s done, it’s done. There’s no changing it, so you might as well laugh.

The man I seek is smart, fun, funny, flexible, a bit of a homebody, loves to travel, is not religious but has a spiritual side, is ok with my frequent sarcasm, reads books, would rather paint his fingernails pink than live in the suburbs, enjoys the outdoors, and so on, and so on, and so on….

What I am looking for is a real relationship; a spiritual connection with someone who gets and loves me for who and what I am. “Chemistry” is absolutely required. Synergy is too. I do not want to be taken care of. I want someone who meets my energy with his own, who challenges me to be more than I think I can be. I want someone who compliments my life without overwhelming it; a man who is as comfortable as my favorite tennis shoes, but makes my heart race and my toes tingle. And I must do the same for him!

Our relationship will be based on love, trust, affection, and open communication. Ideally we will both be committed to exploring and stretching our personal boundaries.

What I’m doing with my life

For fun I go out with friends, read, garden, play with the pets. I try to get out and enjoy Knoxville. I like to travel. I went to Romania in the summer of 2007, and drove to Oregon in the summer of 2000. I go to Iowa every summer to see my grandmother (she just turned 92!) I thinking of going to Italy this year or next.

I’m really good at

Listening, problem solving, seeing the big picture, finding four-leaf clovers, laughing at life, learning from my mistakes, helping, working behind the scenes, offering support, and not taking life too seriously.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm short. I'm good natured. I tend to be shy at first. - and as a dear friend of mine likes to remind me, I don't suffer fools gladly.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Barbara Kingsolver, Sue Grafton (A is for Alibi, etc...), Christopher Moore, Babbit, and books on history. I just read a couple books by David Deida.

Music: I haven't been into music much in the last couple years. I like U2, REM, Nora Jones, Jack Johnson, Cold Play, and some others I hear on the radio but don't know the names. I just discovered Pandora.com. It's really cool.

Movies: Shawshank Redemption, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Princess Bride, Pirates of the Caribbean, When a Man Loves a Woman.

Food?? What's not to love? Tabuleh (how do you spell that?), sushi, steak, good salads, pizza, good salsa, oh, and DARK CHOCOLATE!!! Oh, and I'm going to write a coffee table book one day called "Tiramisus of the world".

The six things I could never do without

my pets, friends, books, dark chocolate, diet coke. Only 5! What can I say? I am low-maintenance.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Traveling - where next? (I'm thinking of Venice, before it sinks!) My next remodeling/home improvement project. The exciting potential for change under the new administration. Aligning my life with my values. Finding inner peace and awareness.

On a typical Friday night I am

doing something quiet. Usually.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Do you really think I'm going to put something remotely juicy here?? Silly boy!

BTW - My responses to OKC questions are tempered (By necessity. I can explain later if you'd like.) by a certain amount of political correctness. The icons at the bottom of this page do not tell a whole or true picture. Oh, and "more scientific", seriously???

You should message me if

You are optimistic about life. You love to laugh. You like verbal banter, but know when to stop. You are realistic, but not cynical. There are things you are passionate about. If you gotten this far and are interested or curious.
