I am athletic, musical, and curious.
My Self-Summary
I like to goof off when I'm in good company and if I'm giving
someone a hard time, it's because I like them. Talking to people
about subjects they're passionate about, no matter what they are,
makes me happy. I'm pretty outgoing when I'm comfortable, but I
like my alone time as well, when I catch up on the NY Times, fool
around on the piano, go cycling, or watch some shows on Hulu.
What I’m doing with my life
After seven straight years of school here in CA, I'm taking a year
or two (or more) off from an electrical engineering PhD program to
work at a solar energy startup. I've wanted to work on solar cells
for a while and enjoy what I do.
I’m really good at
Fixing my mom's computer problems from 3000 miles away.
Procrastinating yet being punctual. Quoting movies/TV shows. Fake
German accents. Staying level headed. Sarcasm.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Book: Slaughterhouse Five (I read, really - I'm just picky)
Movies (in some kind of order): Office Space, This Is Spinal Tap,
Best in Show, Zoolander, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Planet of
the Apes (the original), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The
Fugitive, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Godfather
Parts I & II but not III, The Shawshank Redemption, Back to the
Future, The Truman Show, Forrest Gump
TV shows: Arrested Development (duh), The Simpsons, Seinfeld, The
Daily Show, The Office, 30 Rock, South Park
Music: Sufjan Stevens, Guster, Coldplay, Ben Folds (Five), Howie
Day, Bob Schneider, Jump Little Children, Keane, Beethoven, Chopin,
Grieg, Rachmaninoff
Food: pretty much anything.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
In the interest of full disclosure, I should mention that I played
squash and sang a cappella in college. If you don't know what
squash is, you're probably from the west coast.
You should message me if
You're not embarrassed of being a bit nerdy, you like a little
absurd humor every once in a while, you have an appreciation for
music, and you enjoy going outside and
running/biking/frisbeeing/whatever.
I'm a bit of a stickler for grammar, so if you write me a message
that looks like it was composed by a 4th grader, I'll pass.
