I am quirky, compassionate, and intrigued.

My Self-Summary

I'm no longer in Asia, came back without an Om tattoo, but with a whole bucket of new perspectives.

Once upon a time I learned about very old and very new books at university. My favourite old guy is Chaucer. I can't pick a favourite new person, though I'm pretty sure Kazuo Ishiguro is one of the best writers of the last 20 years.

Now I get unreasonably excited about tiny particles. Namely neurons, amino acids, and today, fatty acids and myelin sheaths. Duh, I'm a huge dork.

I love neurons, children, fat animals, coffee, poetry, and the simpsons.

What I’m doing with my life

I learn about neurons still, but now I've added the rest of the human body. this is a cryptic way of saying that I study medicine, and that I'm dropping the "m" bomb up front.

I’m really good at

reading. liking chocolate.

The first things people usually notice about me

i'm very short. i am usually also wearing turquoise.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

a) seriously? I was an English Literature major. Divisadero by Ondaatje is on my current "in-process" and "in-love" shelf. I went to see him read at the IFOA and cried. There, I admitted it. Big dork.

b) Half Nelson, The Last King of Scotland, Finding Nemo, Amelie

c) Hmmmm....lots of albums here too, and impossible to choose one. My most recent purchases include missy elliot, common, cat power, sufjan stevens, fiona apple, beduoin soundclash, talib kweli, and saul williams.

d) chocolate, preferably dark and pure. No innuendos, please.

The six things I could never do without

televisionwithoutpity.com, my bookshelves, stereo, friends, coffee, some kind of nutritional sustenance might help

I spend a lot of time thinking about

the brain...often how it relates to angry children.

You should message me if
