My self-summary
Oh hello there. If you think you recently spied me on the streets of Boston you're mistaken. I'm currently finishing up a sentence of being a maid / slave in an Albanian hostel. Just so you know, a creepy old man offered me his 16-year-old relative ("Nice girl. Skinny like you. You make sex in my son's room and then she go to US with you.") so this whole OKCupid thing might be totally unnecessary after all.

Back in the real world, I'm getting dragged through a soc / anth grad program at Northeastern. I work as an all-powerful teaching assistant, and I moonlight as a server at the coolest place in Somerville. I'm a fan of biking, board games, playing the piano, being terrible at bar trivia, and sending fifty snapchats a day of the cat.

I also do a lot of traveling, I love exploring and talking to people from other places. I studied abroad in New Zealand and really want to go back (turns out I should've gone and shot Peter Jackson before he destroyed The Hobbit... yeah, I really really despise that movie). After college I took some time off and went through Costa Rica and Thailand (see cute elephant photo). And I worked as an abused maid before, in Spain. And I'll just point out here that my 50-year-old cleaning woman friend took one look at my fitted-sheet ironing skills and said I'd make a great match for someone. So there you go.

Message me! Let me know how my old girl Boston's doing. As long as the old Albanian men don't abduct me, I'll be back soon.
What I’m doing with my life
When I was a kid I told everyone I wanted to be Rick the Cow. Or an iguanodon. So I'd stomp around the house with my arms out and thumbs up. I had a lot of direction then.
I’m really good at
imitating Brad Neely's voice, like in Wizard People Dear Readers. If you're a Harry Potter fan and you haven't heard of this, I probably just made your day:
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Catch-22, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby, Cloud Atlas, I Know This Much Is True, Lord of the Rings, 1984, Lord of the Flies, His Dark Materials, Harry Potter, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The World According to Garp, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, Calvin & Hobbes... and get that Kindle thing away from me!

Music: Bruce Springsteen, Arcade Fire, U2, Coldplay, 2pac, Belle & Sebastian, Death Cab For Cutie, John Mayer, Muse, M83, Regina Spektor, Florence and the Machine, Ben Folds, Vampire Weekend. I've been playing a lot of Giovanni Allevi, Ludovico Einaudi, and Joe Hisaishi on the piano lately, and they're fantastic, and you should check them out.

Movies: Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Star Wars, Wall-E, Into the Wild, Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty, District 9, Inception, Lost in Translation, The Dark Knight, The Good The Bad and The Ugly, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, every Miyazaki movie, Before Sunrise / Sunset / Midnight, and of course The Room.

Shows: Game of Thrones, The Wire, Seinfeld, Battlestar Galactica, Mad Men, True Detective, The Newsroom, The Office, 30 Rock, Parks & Rec, Lost, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Flight of the Conchords.
Podcasts are great when I have the time, I really like This American Life, The Moth, Wiretap, and Radiolab.

All the foods.
The six things I could never do without
-Thai Red Curry (since I've been back from Thailand I've been trying to make my own with mediocre results)
-A piano
-The Boss
-My pet Vulpix... I wish
-Nerdy board games like Settlers of Catan, Dominion, and Ticket to Ride. Watch out, I'm kind of good
-And gems like these from Steve Brule:
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Race, gender, class, inequality, and Westeros
On a typical Friday night I am
doing milk of the poppy
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I regularly check up on Pusheen the Cat:

I saw The Shining a few years ago and I'm still traumatized... every time I go to the bathroom at night I wonder if I'm going to make it back to bed alive
