a) I hate doing this sort of thing. b) fo' realz this time. I'm
from Philadelphia, USA, and my family is from North Carolina (like
that song Wagon Wheel) and Kentucky (like the chicken. Fun fact,
Colonel Sanders was a Kentucky Colonel, NOT an actual one). I am
now in Edinburgh for my Masters. I will be starting a PhD programme
in Art History in the fall. c) i love movies, but i would never
call myself a "film buff," because I am not a hipster. I also like
hiking and general exercise. I have a pretty big personality. I
realize this paragraph does not convey that; take that to be the
result of 11 years of formal writing, which generally discourages
What I’m doing with my life
I have a BA in Art History, and am finishing up my Masters in Art
History from University of Edinburgh. I will be starting my PhD
programme in the fall.
I’m really good at
Let's just say I'll talk about things I'm interested in here; I
might not necessarily be good at them. Anyway, I love history and
art history--I want to get a PhD, so there you go. I also love the
outdoors, hiking, and general fitness. I played rugby for a year,
too, which was pretty awesome. I like reading and books. I did
martial arts for a really long time, as well (haven't been doing it
lately). I love music, but I can't play an instrument--whoops! Okay
not to brag, but I am really good at cooking. Oh, here's a way to
better understand me (in a weird way): I like Harry Potter, but I'm
not weirdly obsessed. Okay. There we go.
The first things people usually notice about me
Despite the tone of the above sections, I actually have a big
personality. I love having a good time, I love conversation (not
about politics or religion, just because I hate debate. HATE it)
and going out. I am a warm person and would help a friend out.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Art History and History books (I know...), Pride and Prejudice,
Sense and Sensibility, Serena by Ron Rash, Martin Chuzzlewit by
Dickens, Catcher in the Rye, The Chosen, etc. I like Mad Men,
House, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, as well as horror movies and
comedies. Music? Pretty much anything except for obnoxious rap and
death metal. Since when has screaming/demon sounds been considered
singing? And food is good. All of it. Give.
The six things I could never do without
Food, water (I'm a pragmatist), books, music, family, laughter.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Drinking and social patterns in Colonial America. I'm not kidding.
If I'm going to be spending the rest of my life researching and
writing, why not do it about booze in the 17th and 18th century?
Fun fact, people drank on average of 45 gallons of beer per year
On a typical Friday night I am
Either out drinking with friends or studying....about drinking.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Find out for yourself if you want. No winky face. That shit's dumb.
You should message me if
You find me interesting, and you're not looking for casual sex. If
you are, keep looking. Sorry--been there, done that, not
