My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Creative, curious and curly-haired native NYer with a vivacious energy and zest for life, learning & new experiences. Much of my energy draws upon the sights, sounds and activities of the big city, but I'm quick to balance that with my love for the nature and the great outdoors. I come from an extended family of artists, engineers and math whizzes, so I'm naturally a pretty even mix between left-brain and right-brain.

I'm a pretty open-minded, self-aware, honest, kind and genuine person always looking to improve myself, and tend to get along with people on the same wavelength. I'm always down for learning, travel and trying new things whether it's learning to sandboard in Peru, hiking glaciers in Iceland or learning to compost.

In my free time I like to check out live music, ride my bike around town, find the newest and greatest places to eat & drink, practice my photography and billiards skills, throw BBQs for friends, hang out & tinker in my garden, play with my cat, and plan my next international adventure.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working as a designer at a large consulting firm and studying user experience design in my free time.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- organizing things (whether it's a closet, a website or a party)
- problem solving, analyzing situations and giving advice
- taking pictures (street scenes and my friends profile pics)
- remembering faces, unique names & random factoids
- kicking butt in bar/board games (pool, bocce, scrabble, ping pong)
- knowing where countries are located on a map
- dodging tourists and getting a seat on the subway
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes and my name (I'm named after a very popular 70's songstress). That I sometimes look underage to older folks
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Music: Indie rock/ electronic / hip hop with a little soul & substance: little dragon, chrvches, wild nothing, the national, brazilian girls, janelle monae, amy winehouse, nas, kanye west, drake, outkast, etc

Reading: These days I'm a bit of a scattered reader and have my nose in several books at a time, but I spend a lot of time reading the NYTimes, NY Magazine, Gothamist, non fiction and psychology books

Film: Not much of a TV watcher these days and def a bit of a movie snob. Six feet under is my fave show of all time. Like movies that are on the weird/quirky/indie side: Fargo, Donnie Darko, Edward Scissorhands, Requiem for a dream, Babel, 21 Grams (and basically anything by Iñárritu)

Food: Pizza from Difaras; freshly baked bagels from Bagel Hole (voted best bagels in NYC and right in my hood :), knishes from Knish knosh; coconut Bubble tea; Vietnamese sandwiches; authentic fish tacos; green tea & salted caramel ice cream are just a few random faves
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- sunshine
- a camera
- good company
- something to read
- music
- chapstick
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- Whether I should work from home or go into the office
- Where my next trip will be
- Whether I really need that new pair of shoes
- How much longer I can afford to live in brooklyn
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Doing something that usually involves cocktails and food
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm one of those native new yorkers who's never officially driven (though I do have a license and have been told I that I'm a killer backseat driver).

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You know awesome when you see it: you value substance, depth and originality over superficial things like cheap thrills, big bills, bling and other flashy/meaningless things.

You're easygoing, open-minded, kind, playful, confident, self-aware, honest and don't take life too seriously. You see things in shades of gray and not black and white.

You're ok taking your time to get to know each other without unrealistic expectations or pressure. Online dating is difficult and I'd much rather get to know a person over time than jumping into anything too quickly.
