Everybody's looking for Stilton

"If funkytown was a trailerpark, this guy would be a double-wide."

Anyway, I'm looking for a girl who's really special. Someone with a clever spark, and and a heart like marshmallows, after they've been microwaved for about 10 seconds.

I wanna go exploring hidden canyons through back alleyways, watch the circus of the-people-in-the-booth-behind-us, and discuss the politics of the ant colony that just founded a settlement on our mountain picnic. And other times I just wanna walk down new streets and places, watch people enjoy life, or hang out for lunch someplace.

I guess I fall at the intersection of the sets of smart, quirky, crazy, and commonsensical. There aren't that many people that seem to spend much time with that part of that particular venn diagram, but the ones that do seem particularly awesome.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
The rest is all kinda boring stuff. You really should just message me and say hi!

You're still reading? Well, I guess if you really want to know...

Professionaly, I'm a web developer, mostly doing Ruby on Rails.

Traveling the world is high on my priorities, so I'll have to put some of my vacation days to work and discover new places! That's more fun with friends though, so of you've got some place you'd like to go, tell me about it!

One other thing: somewhat to my surprise, God has become a big part of my life. He gives great gifts, and seems to know better than me what will truly make my life great. So I'm following him. Ask me more if you want to.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening, Enjoying the silence, Having fun in the little things, thinking of the big things.

Designing things of all sorts. I'm good at critiquing a design, and finding way to improve it, and can do this introspectively.

I'm good at math, particularly understanding abstract systems. This leads me to be really good at computers. No, I will not fix your computer. Don't be annoying or I will delete you and replace you with a very small shell script.

You're STILL reading? Man, If my writing is that interesting imagine how awesome I am in person! You totally should send me a message.

I like to cook, and so far no one has died because of that. (It's usually pretty good, although often spicy). I'll eat anything that doesn't move, and I'll even make exceptions to that. In any case, I'm really good at finding the tastiest hole-in-the-wall restaurants.

I'm also a pretty good at writing and storytelling, when I can get over constant writers block. If I didn't have that I'd think about being a writer as a career. I like making chain stories with friends.

I'm loyal, and non-judgmental, even though I might give you flak about anything. I have my opinions, but respect other's, and care more about how you got to them, then what they are. I'd love to hear what you feel most strongly about, and why.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
is that I'm just damn sexy. ^.^ Then my oddball humor and quirkiness. (You did notice that right? I wasn't being too subtle?) After that, you'll notice that I'm pretty clever sometimes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My favorite genres are humor/comedy, scifi/fantasy, and intriguing drama. Also, if it's visually stunning, I really like it.
Current TV shows that fit the bill:
Fringe
Big Bang Theory
Leverage
Dexter
Burn Notice
LXD (Yes, it's quite contrived, but the routines are amazing.)
Doctor Who

What are you still doing here?!?!?!? See that little box floating at the top of the page? Yea, that's the one. Click it and write something. I don't bite! Well, not hard anyway....

Movies:
the Lego Movie (Everything is Awesome!!!!)
Lord of the Rings (the books too. The Silmarillion was too dry though.)
The Princess Bride (the book was somewhat better than the movie, but I like them both.)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Fight Club
Black Snake Moan
Primer(Probably the most realistic Time Travel SciFi movie ever.)
District 9(Probably the most realistic Alien Encounter SciFi movie ever.)
Trollhunter (Probably the most hilarious and creative fake documentary ever)
Book of Eli
Serenity (but firefly was better. Joss Wedon Is a really good director though.)
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Although it could have been so much more awesome.
Real Steel: robot boxing needs to happen. Plus, it's great to see a movie that praises men who step up, and aren't blundering oafs constantly.
the East

Books:
The Amber Chronicles
The Shack
Wrinkle In Time (Madeline L'angle is a really awesome and wise person)
The Art of Infinity
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Eragon and the rest of the Inheritance Cycle
Blink
The Circle Trilogy
Spirit Flyer
The Planet Strappers (a rather odd book with a really pulp vibe to it. I'd love to make it a movie.)
Code (non-fiction book on computer science.)
Many more I have currently forgotten....

Music wise, I only listen to music that doesn't exist yet. ;)
I like indie, post-rock, math-rock, ambient, novelty, chiptunes, or funny, with the occasional classics and only the most interesting techno. And now, blues. If you don't have spotify, get it now. And thrice is the bomb. Totally listen to them.

I also like the occasional anime. Elfen Liad was pretty good, and so was The Girl Who Jumped Through Time. Soul Eater had a quirkiness I just loved. Recently I watched Porco Rosso which somehow managed to escape most of the obvious clichés, and is an awesome movie. My favorites are probably Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champaloo. Also Eden of the East. Byōsoku Go Senchimētoru (5 cm Per Second) is probably the most beautifully animated thing I've ever seen. I highly recommend you see it. Does Avatar: The Last Airbender count as anime? It's awesome in any regard.

Food wise, I'm an om(nomnom)ivore on a see-food diet. I like everything, especially something I've never tried. Fish fingers and custard: tried it, not bad. I love to cook and share.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. The chance of something better
2. A fire in my mind
3. Something I'm told I couldn't possibly do
4. A different way to think of things
5. A way to order chaos
6. A way to challenge order

[Bam! now thats how you answer that question! None of that unimaginative "food, shelter, my iPhone" stuff! ;) ]
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
kumquats. I think they hold the secrets of the universe. Either that or pomegranates.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Same thing I do every night - TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD! Mwahaha. Or I'm having a barbecue at my house, or hanging out with friends, or often studying. Every so often I'll go downtown to the Mercury Cafe or the Turnverein for some ballroom dancing. I'm the guy in the back that said "Everyone attack!" (and it turned into a ballroom blitz!).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are most of the following: adventurous, somewhat athletic, smart and intellectual, interesting, stable, genuine, preferably a tad geeky, and looking for friendship first, with the possibility of a serious relationship if we really hit it off; and want to have a fun time doing occasionally crazy stuff.

If that's true, well then, don't wait! An offer this good won't last long!

Also, if you wanna go ballroom dancing! I know (To varying degrees) Tango, Blues, Waltz, Salsa, and Swing (lindy hop mainly). Don't worry if you're not good. I like to teach, and all you have to do is follow my lead.

Don't bother if: you're scared of polysyllabic words, you don't know what polysyllabic means, you're not willing to improve yourself and your life, you're a guy pretending to be a girl ;), you're easily offended, or irritated by life, it's exactly 11:07:42 on a tuesday.

You read all the way to the end?!? Wow. that's impressive. I either deserve a Pulitzer, or you may be a stalker. In the first case, You should message me 'cause i'm an amazing writer that you just have to get to know. In the second case, if you say "Hi", you're no longer a stalker! Although, I hear that my stalker fan club has free pizza and ice cream on poker nights.
