My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Short Version:
Genuine. Laid back. Driven. Successful artist. Active and adventurous at times. Silly/nerdy at others. Just looking for a smart and gorgeous goofball.

I install artwork during the day. I sculpt at night for commissions. Some of my art is featured at the Cosmo in Vegas, some overseas in Russia and Macau.

I like: galleries, rock shows, biking, craft brew, new food spots, motorcycles, hiking, road trips, sci fi, horror, indie flicks, healthy diet, TED talks.

Nerds, artists, and misfits... dreamers, musicians, and poets: welcome.
Just be yourself.

Long Version:
I'm that quirky, funny, artist/musician-type who's just looking for someone to eventually share my life with.

I grew up in San Diego and moved to Orange County when I was 15.

I've been called hippie (it's the hair), nerd (straight A student, graduated with honors), monkey boy (climbing), Cane (I used one for a few months due to a back injury), and even Walker Texas Ranger (last name... what can you do). But not too many insults... at least not to my face.

I've been a successful sculptor for the last 10 years. By success, I mean, I get paid to do what I love.

I can usually find the humor in most situations. Life is strange and demanding sometimes... but you got to laugh. My humor tends to be dry and sarcastic. Sometimes witty, other times corny. And with the right people, sometimes inappropriate. So if you're not laughing, at least I will be.

One thing I've never had a problem with is to just be myself. I tend to value genuine people and keep them in my circle of friends.

I take my goals and accomplishments pretty seriously. As for the rest of the time... I'm always down for a good time, whatever that may entail.

Shameless self-promotion.

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work as a freelance sculptor and illustrator. Recent commissions have included a few pieces at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Vegas and 8 more at the Four Seasons in St. Petersburg, Russia. My most recent was the largest to date: a 6' tall bronze peacock going in the new Wynn property in Macau. When I'm in between projects, I transport and install art all over LA and Orange county.
Recently I just landed a teaching job at a community center which will be both challenging and exciting. Currently, it's just one sculpture class. But I hope to have more in the future.
I also have a band with two other friends in which I sing and play bass. We've got an album online for download as well as CDs and we play out when we can.
Whenever I'm not busy with all that, I'm off riding my motorcycle through the winding roads of Orange County.
Although I'm pretty busy, it's important to me to take the time for the people who are close to me in my life. Perhaps one of those people will be you.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I feel like this just comes off as bragging...
but you don't get anywhere without speaking up every once in awhile.
So here it goes.
Drawing. Painting. Sculpting. Laughing. Listening. The bass guitar. Walking on my hands... unless my back is acting up. I could have been a writer, and I still write from time to time, but alas... I have too many interests. People tell me I'm a good friend. So there's that. Good is relative. I'm definitely not perfect. Everyone has their moments of being a dick from time to time. I'm good at being a goof ball I guess. Saying random things that only a few people get. But I'm also pretty serious when I want to be. Which is generally when I'm pursuing my passions.

Giving people second chances. But never third ones.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile.
And my hair when it's long.

And no, I'm not a surfer or a stoner.
But some of my friends are.

An ex told me I reminded her of Aidan from Sex In The City. So I got that going for me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm a HUGE music fan. Aren't we all? So skip ahead if you're not into lists.

Music: I'm open to a lot of music. Generally, if it's creative and not like all the other boring stuff on the radio, I will appreciate it in some way. Melvins, Tool, Radiohead, Mastodon, Animals As Leaders, Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, Fantomas, anything Mike Patton has his hands in, Nomeansno, Alice in Chains, PJ Harvey, Morphine, Björk, Soul Coughing, Oingo Boingo, Queens Of The Stone Age, Primus, Nine Inch Nails, Clutch and so many more.

Movies use to be a bigger interest in my life. Now I prefer quality over quantity. I love a lot of sci-fi movies, horror, well written dramas, dark comedies, light comedies, and independent films. Eternal Sunshine is a favorite of mine. Brazil. Raising Arizona. Blade Runner. Labyrinth. Donnie Darko. Brick. The Fisher King. Legend of 1900. Dark City. Jesus' Son. The Shawshank Redemption. Tarantino. David Fincher. Terry Gilliam. Coen Brothers. I watch HBO from time to time. LOVE Game Of Thrones. And Breaking Bad was beyond awesome. And Walking Dead is mandatory. The first season of True Detective was brilliant. GIRLS is hilarious.

Some Anime. Cowboy Bebop is a long standing favorite. Aeon Flux is also up there. Most things Hayao Miyazaki.

Oh. And if you love and miss this show... we'll probably get along.

I don't have much time to read lately but my favorite book is Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Anything by Clive Barker. And some Philip K. Dick. I'd like to read more Neil Gaiman. Just finished On A Pale Horse. Ishmael is up next. And I have a stack of graphic novels on my bedside table at all times.

Favorite food: I'll try anything once. I'm a fan of most cuisines. And I have a deep love for In-N-Out. Sorry vegans and Vegetarians.

I'm also a fan of new and local craft brew. So if you like breweries and Gastropubs, that's a plus.

Oh and let's just throw in TED Talks and NPR for good measure.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music. Art. Friends. Food. Water. Sleep. God I love sleep. But I don't get as much as I use to. Too busy with life and such.

Can I say sex without sounding like a pig? We'll just assume that everyone likes sex and go about our day.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life and how immeasurably interesting and unexplainable it seems.
My next sculpture or art piece.
The song I'm currently writing.
And, of course, women.

And what's with all the duck faces?
Seriously ladies, your pics look better without them.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Calling up friends to hang out. Going to a new restaurant. Watching a good movie. Going to a show. Or working on art or music.
Most times I'll take interesting or new over what's been done before.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I got my first tattoo on my 33rd birthday.
I'm slowly designing the next one or two.
Not the most private thing...
but it's a start.

Update: Tattoo #2 on birthday 34.
Next year is currently in the design stages.

Oh, and I'm a sucker for girls with well done tattoos. But, being
that I'm an artist, I also appreciate a clean canvas as well.

Also, while I don't mind messaging back and forth a bit before meeting... Most times I think it's best to just cut to the chase and meet up and see if there is a real connection. Somewhere public of course, just to be safe.
