My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
A Mexican American lady taking the world by storm with outrageous stories, vociferous laughter, intelligent debate, and a killer smile. Give me a good rack of ribs and some sweet tea and I'll love you forever or at least until I'm hungry again.

I am a strong-willed, curious, optimist, with a flair for the dramatic--but only on stage. I'm a California girl to the end but currently back in DC (I lived here from 2007-2010) as I begin my career as an attorney. I love to ride the bus and meet new people. I seek out challenges and love talking to people that can keep up with an ever-changing dialogue.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Saving the world.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making the most delicious breakfast burritos ever. Turning heads. Commanding the attention of a room. Only knowing three jokes. Giving flirting advice. Changing the world one day at a time.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My friends say my smile but I say my crazy curly hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I do my best to read every day no matter how busy I may be. Some of my fondest memories are of visits to the library. I still go regularly and love wandering the stacks for that book that screams my name. It’s quite the elaborate process since I never read the book covers. It’s been my policy for as long as I can remember. The summaries always give away too much information. I was once half way through a book when I decided it was safe to read the back cover. I was wrong. The biggest plot point of the book, which I had not yet reached in my reading, was told in less than seven words. I’ll never make that mistake again.
Some favorites: The Awakening, Cannery Row (and everything else by John Steinbeck), Johnny Got His Gun, The Secret History (and anything by Donna Tartt), The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao (and everything by Junot Diaz), Rain of Gold, Wuthering Heights, The Odyssey.

Movies: I live a bold life. I like my movies to be bold too. I want to watch something that makes me laugh until my stomach hurts, cry until I am gasping for breath, incites me to action, or leaves me quivering with fear for weeks.
Some favorites: Life is Beautiful, Waitress, La Misma Luna, Batman (all of them except for the crap with George Clooney), Big Fish, City of God, Frida, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, The Bridges of Madison County, Smoke Signals

TV: I prefer television to movies. Like books, tv allows me to know the details about each character. I get to grow with them. That said, most tv shows last too long, well after the story is finished being told.
Some favorites: Scandal, Dexter, Heroes, The Cosby Show, Ugly Betty, New Girl, House of Cards

Music: Growing up my father played music every morning. There was a little country, rock n roll, jazz, r&b, soul, and everything in between. I have continued the morning music tradition and am still attracted to just about everything. My favorite songs have heavy beats that make me want to dance or are sung so soulfully that I drop everything to listen.
Some favorites: Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Luis Miguel, Kimbra, Garth Brooks, Tito Puente, Etta James, Janelle Monae, Lake Street Dive, Michael Jackson, Yuna, Elvis, Lauryn Hill (the list goes on and on)

Food: I love to bake and cook. I have a particular fondness for Mexican food. I am always working on perfecting my family's recipes. Baking soothes me. The smell of the butter and sugar coming together to form a dessert that makes you say "mmmm..." is magic.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Sunshine, coconut water, paper and pencil, potatoes
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I can maximize my time, different ways to organize a room, the best outfit to wear for every occasion, the most efficient way to visit each restaurant I want to try, how many of the men I pass on the street and give me a knowing glance recognize me from my OKC profile and if it would be awesome or creepy if they said so, and most importantly—how to make the world a better place.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
enjoying the evening whether it's on the couch with wine and tv or with friends belting out our favorite karaoke jams.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm willing to admit a lot of things but I prefer to do so over a glass of wine and witty conversation.
