My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I own a small dress shop in Rhinebeck and make some of the dresses myself when I can. Although I love what I do, I'm not a particular fashion enthusiast. I like interacting with people that come into my shop. You'd be surprised how much you can learn about human nature by watching and helping women shop for clothing. Or maybe you wouldn't. I don't know. I also love owning my own business. It kind of allows me to impose my own brand of weirdness on the world, from which, if I may say so, I think the world benefits.

Trying to describe my personality on the internet is possibly the most unpleasant task I can imagine.

Forced to do so, I suppose I'll say the following: Serious yet whimsical. Slightly neurotic at times. Loves cause and effect. Generally frustrated when presented with effect and no cause. Creative. Earnest.

I think some of my "explanations" accompanying the various questions on this website probably convey a bit more about who I am and how I think. So I guess you can read those if you like.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
At risk of sounding just horrible, I'm a very thoughtful and analytic person. It's not that I don't value honesty, kindness, humor, creativity, etc. I just already know lots of people with those qualities. I don't know too many people who can keep up with me in a conversation about complex and abstract topics (or rather, none to whom I'm attracted). So that's what I'm looking for on this website. I really am not a complete intellectual snob in person. For the purposes of this online dating thing, however, I've kind of decided to be one. Sorry.

So as to avoid wasting anyone's time, please message me only if you have something truly substantive to say or ask.

I am absolutely not interested in:
1) your opinion of my physical appearance.
2) anything gleaned solely from a photograph.
3) anything akin to "Hey how are you?".
4) anything not written in proper English.
