My self-summary
In no particular order, I love finding new friends, making dinner for people, laughing (really laughing), Tetris, hearing people's stories, hanging with my brother and sister, trying new recipes, playing board games, long conversations, Spain, the Olympics, and taking early-morning strolls with my grandparents when I visit them. I mute commercials but I love movie previews. I wish I had a dog. I try not to take myself too seriously. I think it's important to be thoughtful.
What I’m doing with my life
I edit articles about baseball and sometimes other stuff.
I’m really good at
staying up too late, taking multiple-choice tests, fixing awkward sentences, wrapping gifts, and finishing things just before the deadline. I'm not so good at playing team sports, baking (but I try all the time) or packing for trips.
The first things people usually notice about me
My expression often betrays what I'm thinking or feeling, so maybe it's that. Or my eyelashes. They're pretty long.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have mixed feelings about this section, because I think a long-winded list can be boring, and a shorter, well-curated list seems kind of false. I won't write you off based on your list (or the inverse), and I don't want to go out with someone who'd write me off based on mine. So, if you care, here are some things I like: Reading nonfiction, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Lucille Clifton, singer-songwriters while I'm walking down the street, hip-hop when I'm dancing in my apartment, Radiolab, The Decemberists, The Moth, Amos Lee, Ingrid Michaelson, documentaries, Six Feet Under and Sopranos reruns, Masters of Sex, soup, ice cream, Children of Men, Short Term 12, The Sound of Music, The New York Times, vodka gimlets.
The six things I could never do without
Besides the obvious:
-something to fiddle with
-a thesaurus
-my cycling shoes
-my headphones
I spend a lot of time thinking about
-the terrible things that happen in the world and why they happen
-conversations I want to have or how I would change conversations that I've already had
-what to make for breakfast tomorrow
On a typical Friday night I am
out or in for dinner and drinks. Or working.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I hate ketchup and I love the bitter taste of unwashed fruit.
