I'm almost twenty and there are so many things I want to do. I want
to write. I want to listen to
music every day for the rest of my life. I
want to learn to play more instruments. I want to learn everything
I can about everything that interests me. I have no idea what I
want to DO with my life, but I want to
be happy.
No offense meant at all, but if you're older than twenty five, I'm
probably not going to be interested in pursuing anything further
than friendship with you.
I'm a
Journalism major at Cal Poly Pomona.
I'd really like to get into Entertainment writing, maybe as a music
critic or something like that. I don't have a whole lot of writing
experience but I'm hoping to learn a lot more and get more practice
under my belt soon. I'm an avid music listener and a huge fan of
live
shows and concerts.
Other than that, I'm just trying to find a job and figure out what
to do with my life. I've only lived in MoVal for a year but I
haven't really made any friends out here because I'm way too shy
for my own good. I don't have a job so I spend most of my time at
home or school.
I'm not confident enough to claim to be an expert at anything, but
I like to think I'm a decent writer. I wrote for my high school
paper all senior year, doing news stories and band features as well
as show reviews and making up playlists for different holidays.
Obviously that's not hugely professional, but it was a lot of
fun.
I like to play
guitar and I'm trying to learn a lot more
right now. I'd really like to learn the
piano too. I really like
photography too, though I don't
have the money for a decent camera and actually have no idea what
I'm doing. I just like to take pictures.
I feel confident in calling myself a good friend and listener. I
tend to worry about other peoples' well being before my own. A lot
of my friends have jokingly called me "mom" in the past, but it
doesn't bother me because I know it just means I care a lot about
them.
I honestly don't know. You tell me. :) I used to be taller than a
lot of people, but then they all caught up. I'm a tallish blue-eyed
blonde in Southern California, I really don't think I stand out
much haha.
I wish I had more time for recreational reading. but I used to love
Dean Koontz books. Especially From the Corner of His Eye. I always
go back and read that one. Same with She's Come Undone by Wally
Lamb and Stargirl by Mark Spinelli. Peter Pan and The Last Unicorn
are some other favorites, along with the Neverending Story. Shhh,
I'm a child at heart. Some of the books I read in high school for
classes were great too, like Catcher in the Rye, Brave New World
and To Kill a Mockingbird. I also love
poetry but I only have a few books from
EE Cummings and Bukowski so far.
I lovelovelove
movies. I rarely hate any movies, but
some of my favorites are Finding Neverland, Forrest Gump, What
Dreams May Come, Peter Pan, Garden State, Almost Famous, Eternal
Sunshine, Lord of the Rings, Practical Magic, That Thing You Do!,
Die Hard, Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, Dead Poets Society,
Empire Records, and probably a million more that I'll want to add
in later.
As for
music, it's
about the same. Far too many to list, but some of my top top top
favorites are Brand New, Dashboard Confessional, Jack's Mannequin,
the Ataris, the Format, fun., Valencia, the Dangerous Summer, As
Tall As Lions, Lydia, Mayday Parade, Death Cab for Cutie, Name
Taken, the Early November, Counting Crows, Fall Out Boy, Cartel,
Iron and Wine, Ace Enders, et cetera, et cetera. :)
My username on lastfm is staringatstars.
And I pretty much love any and all food. I'm not super picky but I
hate asparagus.
Home cooked meals are the
best, even if it's just a can of Campbells Chicken Noodle and some
crackers. I love going out for Mexican or Italian food, or even
just picking up some Chinese take-out. It doesn't take much to
impress me hahah.
Music.
My mom.
My closest friends.
Oxygen.
Water.
Food.
Life, the future, music, school, EVERYTHING EVER. I think a lot.
Too much sometimes.
At home, watching tv. :( Sad, I know. Sometimes I'll go see a movie
or a band or maaaaybe the occasional party at a friend's house. But
I'm a total homebody since we moved here.
I fall for people far too easily sometimes, but I'm working on
changing that.
you want to. :)
