I'm a down-to-earth nerd with occasional misanthropic tendencies. I
love to laugh and make people laugh. Born and raised in Houston, I
moved to L.A. to work and escape the humidity. My hobbies include
riding my mountain bike and collecting toys - yes, I admit it
because I'm honest and up-front like that.
What I’m doing with my life
I work Master Control for a cable TV facility. I'm trying to buy a
condo before they get too expensive. Over the past few years I've
committed to getting healthy by riding my bike again, eating a
little bit healthier, and losing weight. So far I've lost 60 pounds
over the past two years so it's not just empty talk.
I’m really good at
...listening. Really! Combined with my patience I'm a great
sounding board. My grandfather once suggested I become a priest
because of these traits. To paraphrase a line in the movie "Fight
Club" that always struck a chord with me, I'm not just waiting for
my turn to speak.
The first things people usually notice about me
My polite and smiling face. I'm currently growing out my hair
because why not? Probably won't last though.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love comedies first and foremost because I am always ready to
laugh. Mel Brooks, the Marx Bros, Mike Judge, early Adam Sandler,
and especially the combined efforts Will Ferrell and director Adam
McKay. In television, I love cartoons such as The Simpsons (in the
90's), South Park, and Seth McFarlane cartoons. Bob's Burgers has
grown on me. Seinfeld is one of my all-time favorites. I also like
various British comedies: Red Dwarf, The Office, Monty Python,
I love science fiction, too. In high school I read comic books for
escapism and today movies fill that role. I love time travel movies
and discussing the paradoxes they offer. Some of my favorite movies
are Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Back to the
Future, The Avengers just to name a few.
Music: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Cake, Rob Zombie/White Zombie,
NIN, KoRn, Disturbed, Alice in Chains, Filter, techno, 80's.
Books: novelizations of the movies listed above.
The six things I could never do without
My glasses (or else I'd keep falling over)
My family and friends
My inability to count to six
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what to write in this section and I got nothin'.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends, going to the movies, watching movies at
home, playing video games.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've never been to Disneyland.
