My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name is Andrew. I just moved here from Chicago, finished my masters (in psychology), and have started a job in the gaming industry as a consultant/analyst. I have also done a ton of studies on online dating and can't unsee any of the findings. I love playing sports, hiking, reading, anime, and video games. I am very talkative and outgoing. I am definitely very eclectic and do a little of everything.

I have traveled a lot, mostly inside the US. I spent a good deal of time hiking in the four corners area (Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado) because I love the heat and the desert. I do not do well in the cold, which is why glacier hiking in Alaska was entirely less enjoyable despite how gorgeous it was.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Well grad school was fun but I felt the need to do something with more real world application. I have always been a large follower and observer of the gaming industry, as well as individual games, and have levied that into a job as an analyst/consultant in the gaming industry.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Not surprisingly, I am pretty good at various types of gaming such as strategy/video games, parlor games like pool, and board games. Basically just games. In general. Also, I am an avid reader and read about a book a week. I am also really good at being loud and enthusiastic. I don't really have an inside voice.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
As I said, I am very loud and animated. I would make a terrible ninja, but an excellent pirate. I am also often highly sarcastic and facetious. Like I have trouble stopping. Seriously, my siblings and I once held a competition to see who could actively be the least sarcastic in a day. I came in 2nd to last out of 4.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Before I go into books I feel it is pertinent that everyone ever read this: http://www.buzzfeed.com/josephbernstein/28-favorite-books-that-are-huge-red-flags

Favorite books are things like, game of thrones, The Name of the Wind, The First law. The Warded Man, Lotr. I have a love hate relationship with Neil Gaiman. I love Fantasy and Sci Fi, but I also read a little of everything.

I like basically any type of movie but horror. Though I have a special place in my heart for romantic comedies and superhero movies. I grew up on Bond movies with my dad and rom coms with my mom.

I watch so many shows that I don't want to spend an hour listing them. I watch pretty much anything on usa network (burn notice in particular) as well as everything on HBO and I will admit to having some guilty pleasures like top chef. Dear God do I love BBC for Dr. Who, Earth, and Sherlock. Seriously if you haven't seen Sherlock stop reading this and go watch it. Right now. Go.

Music, my favorite bands are things like Two Door Cinema Club, Pheonix, Muse, the Killers, Lily Allen, Franz Ferdinand, The White Panda (If you know what this is message me), Girl Talk, 3OH!3, Pendulum, Empire of the Sun, Hot Chip, and Metric but like all white dudes i pretty much like anything but country and jazz. I belt Shakira in my car.

I love all food. It is what gets me out of bed most mornings. It's a mystery of the universe how I weigh nothing.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My computer
My library
A good board game
A place to hike and explore
The White Panda: http://www.thewhitepanda.com/
People to share the previous five with
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Which is better: the feel of paper when I read or not carrying a 14 pound tome on the train. Seriously, some of my books the TSA would take for fear I might hijack a plane.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either at a bar with just close friends, home doing work, in the library doing work, home reading a book or playing a video game, or just out doing something random. I don't have a typical Friday night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I hate Ikea and love girly drinks. If you have ever tried to assemble a bookcase from Ikea you understand and a lemon drop tastes delicious, I don't care what anyone says. Also, my studies have shown putting "that I am on an online dating site" is literally the worst thing you can put here. I feel like that should be obvious but apparently it isn't.
You should message me if

You are the kind of person who messages others instead of waiting to be messaged. Being passive is boring.
