My first love is and always be Rugby. I gave up playing a few years ago as it all became a bit too serious and far too much like a weekend job (be here, 9am, don't be late etc), but I still love watching and talking about it like an old man in the pub.
After this I moved to Sheffield and since then rock climbing has been pretty much the biggest thing in my life, with the highlight definitely being two and a half weeks in Yosemite National Park, CA. This turned out to be part climbing trip, part bushwhacking expedition and part emotional roller coaster with a fair dash of bear evasion thrown in for good measure. The stories are much better told in person.
Through climbing I have become rather obsessed with photography, and you will just as likely see me taking pictures of friends climbing as climbing myself.
I also have an unhealthy obsession with second-hand book shops and museums- you can just SMELL the knowledge from the foundations upwards and I find it fascinating how different cultures have developed, we're all so different but often have such similar values- a better life for the next generation, a good life for ourselves, sympathy for others less fortunate than us and goodness knows what else.
I had a bit of an epiphany moment the other week when after years of getting it wrong, I learnt how to use a photocopier.
I won't talk about work, but lets just say I love my job
Oh well, drop me an email if you want to know anything else.
