My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I have a busy job in health care. Most of my good friends are women, not many of us are single. There's not a whole lot of opportunity for meeting single handsome fellows in my life, so here I am :)

I'm positive, kind, compassionate, and a little quirky some days.
I drink decaf coffee, like bacon and eggs for breaky, do some sewing and knitting when the mood strikes, spend a ton of time at the beach, love my plants and my garden a little too much some days, and go bananas for pumpkin pie.
I love cooking and entertaining. I would much rather have friends over for dinner and board games then go out. Going out for a beer is good sometimes, going to the club is not good anymore.
I have some serious opinions about women's health, specifically things pertaining to childbearing. I'm non-confrontational and try to avoid conflict as much as possible...this is about the only topic that I will argue about. Well, maybe there are a few other things I get fired up about :)
I like sharing...feelings, thoughts, dreams, blankets, breakfast, ideas, building projects, ambitions, anxieties, nerves, accomplishments, tents, sleep ins, doughnuts, bottles of wine.
I like canoe trips and kayaking and skiing and sailing. I like to bike places, and go for hikes. I want to spend lots of time outside, and many nights in a tent.
I'm from Ontario, and though there is a lake there calling my name...I don't think I have any intentions of leaving the ocean any time soon.
I'm not very 'up' on popular culture. I probably can't chat with you about the hottest movie stars or the latest hits on the radio.
I've got a friend who's burns me CD's for my we're working on that one. I can chat about most CBC radio personalities though.

I'm happy with my life, I'd like to share it with someone.
You like some of the things I like, but you're your own person and you've got your own likes to share with me! You're kind and compassionate, want a family at some point, and love the ocean.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working. I have what I think is the greatest job in the world.
It would be great if you have a job that inspires you as well

Playing. In the ocean, the sun, the forest, the kitchen. We could go to the farmers market and buy too many veggies and cook dinner together?!

Connecting. With my family (mostly on the phone), with my friends over coffee or a meal or an hour long phone chat even though we just saw each other yesterday. With my pen pal. With the little people in my life who I like to knit cute things for.

Planning. For weekends away, weeks away, weekends at home. For new additions to the garden. Traveling has always been an important part of my life, maybe it is for you too?
I'd like to have a gas range in my kitchen and wood burning stove in my living room one day.

Recharging. My job really takes it out of me sometimes, and I find myself needing more downtime now than I used to. I'm active and like adventure, but there are times when I need to be quiet and relax.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Hand shaking
Eye contact
Keeping plants alive
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Oh jeez, I just don't know. My eyes, or a crazy mop of hair?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Reading is good.

I like movies and sometimes TV shows on netflix. I don't like horror.

Food is yummy. I get hangry pretty darn easily. If I tell you I need to be fed, it means now. If you're good at getting me fed when I can't do it myself, we'll get along. Best if you like cooking with me. Better yet if you don't mind putting the clean dishes away.

Classical, folk, "indie", blues. The Tallest Man on Earth, First Aid Kit, Dallas Green, The Head and the Heart. These days I'm into what I call 'sexy rap/hip hop'. You know, those guys and gals that rap about sexy things with a sweet dancing beat in the background...ya, that shit's good.
Also, this,
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My family. I have a twin sister. We do not look alike. We do a lot of silly things together and like to sing out loud to Celine Dion.
Water: Lakes, oceans, something to jump into.
A lovely goat cheese with some olives and maybe a bit of chorizo on a blanket at the beach. Yes, this is one thing.
My passport
The sun!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Going on bike trips and canoe trips, my sister and when we can visit next, work and what I forgot to do today, how to avoid driving my car, getting a tattoo. How to eat my produce faster so I can get more at the market, how to be a better guitar player, how be better at keeping in touch with friends far and wide, how to be more creative, what to eat for dinner, what the perfect mix of city and country living might be, building things, how doing stuff on my own is cool because I can go where I want when I want...but that having a partner in crime might be rather nice these days. Have I eaten too much ice cream today?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working, sleeping, at the beach, watching a movie, on the ferry, drinking beer or a G and T. Playing board games, dinner partying, skinny dipping, in bed early so I can get up early the next day.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're passionate about something.
You're happy with your career/job, or your path to get there.
You like cooking.
You can communicate about all kinds of things and like doing it.
You want to go away for a weekend and sleep in a tent. Or find a cute little cabin to stay in. Or buy a sailboat one day and spend weekends away up the coast.

I feel pretty happy with myself and who I am. I'd like to have a partner at some point in life who challenges me to be more compassionate, cook new things, learn new skills, and go on more bike trips.
