My Self-Summary

I am a 23 year old college student (almost done, thank fuck) in the bustling metropolis of Canyon, Texas (ha! - nah, it's nice, it's just WAY smaller than my hometown of Houston). I spend most of my time goofing off on the Internet, watching TV (I particularly like Criminal Minds and Big Bang Theory right now), and reading books (mostly fantasy or sci-fi). My favorite sports are horseback riding and vaulting, but I broke my back last December and am still trying to get into the swing of things.

What I’m doing with my life

I have two associate's degrees and am in my last year of my bachelor's in equine industry/business. Post-graduation I want a job that doesn't require heels and keeps me working with horses and the community and pays well enough to feed my cat and me and buy pizza and chocolate. Right now I'm looking at going into law enforcement to try and be a mounted patrol officer, but we'll see what's actually hiring next fall and what my back's up to.

I’m really good at

grammar, spelling, baking, making sad people laugh, listening to people's problems and being sensible, texting while driving, kicking ass, and cuddling. I am not, however, very good at talking about myself.

The first things people usually notice about me

my hair and my boobs, if we're being blunt and honest. I'm good at small talk and small groups, but bad at parties.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: anything by Neil Gaiman, Jane Smiley's Horse Heaven, George R R Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, Jim Butcher's Codex Alera and Dresden Files, Scott Lynch's The Lies of Locke Lamaroa, Garth Nix's Abhorsen series, Kelley Armstrong, Jacqueline Carey, Anne Bishop, Kim Harrison, Jasper Fforde, and Dick Francis. I'm getting into comics: I love The Umbrella Academy, Y The Last Man is excellent, Ex Machina was good, I'm digging Alias and have Sandman next on the list.

TV: Big Bang Theory, Criminal Minds, Daily Show, Colbert Report, Cash Cab, and What Not to Wear. I also watch a lot of Toddlers and Tiaras, King of the Crown, andSay Yes to the Dress, mostly so I can flail at friends about how awful they are.

Movies: Serenity, Love, Actually, Stick It, Step Up, Fast and the Furious franchise, Gone in 60 Seconds, Stardust, Center Stage, Reign of Fire, Millions, The Holiday, and The Girl Next Door.

Music: My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday, Kansas, Meat Loaf, Boston, Christina Aguilera and early 90s country. Checking out my last.fm profile will give you a good idea.

Pizza: chocolate, pizza, fried chicken tenders, fried shrimp, steak, honey and cinnamon butter rolls from Texas Roadhouse

The six things I could never do without

Internet, text messaging, my laptop, my car, my friends, my family.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

those boys in My Chemical Romance, horses, muscle cars, various feminist topics, fat positivity/body acceptance, tattoos and piercings, sex and porn.

On a typical Friday night I am

at home on the computer watching TV, because I just moved 10 hours away from all my friends. Oops. And, actually, even when I lived in town with my friends we did a lot of hanging out watching TV. I also LOVE concerts and enjoy camping, miniature golf, four wheeling, going out to eat, and going to the movies. I really dislike being around people that are drunk or heavily smoking, so I don't generally enjoy bars or nightclubs/dancehalls.
