To Update: I finished the SF marathon! Checked another item off life's todo list.

I take care of myself, fitness and wellness is very important to me, but I am highly guilty of the occasional Big Mac..

A man of many interests, I have a strong geeky side and pick up bizarre, esoteric programming languages (ocaml, haskell) for fun. I'm just as happy drinking in the cities many dives, as a boardgame night, hardcore coding until 3am, or sitting around chatting about something that will probably seem highly inconsequential in the morning.

I rock a killer sense of humor and have performed mediocre standup comedy in college. I had one great show, which fortunately was in front of 1,200 people instead of the usual 10. If you're gonna have one success, make it count and I did. Having over a thousand people laughing on command was one of the greatest feelings I've ever had.

I own a motorcycle, love riding through the mountains. I'm working through my pilots license too. The city of S.F.'s overt hostility to cars makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I love freediving - I've made it to 33.3 meters (100 feet) deep in the waters off the beautiful Koh Tao in Thailand. Thats without tanks, only the air in my lungs.

Just moved back to the US after 8 years living very far away. Things like Amazon and Yelp are totally new to me. This is awesome.

Also, my eyelashes. apparently, and I have no idea if this is true or not because the notion of eyelashes being an element of beauty is totally foreign to me, my eyelashes are spectacular.

The occasional failures.

The ridiculous wealth of information that is now nearly globally, universally accessible within seconds. Vacations are one thing, but I'm hooked for life on the internet.

People who disagree with me.

My raging techno-optimism. For all the problems that still exist, in the grand scheme of human history, we live in a truly amazing period. As Americans, all the moreso. Even in the poorest parts of the world, rates of malnutrition, disease, war, and even just plain violence are universally at the lowest point that they've been in human history. Our work may not be finished, but thats no reason not to be damn proud of how far we've come.

On a more personal note, how crazy is it that with this little block of glass in my pocket, I can access 99% of recorded human knowledge within seconds. For less than a month's salary, most people can travel between almost any 2 points in the world in less than 24 hours in unparalleled safety. Sure the service might suck, but the incredible safety record of our airlines is amazing. In the last 10 years, more people were executed by Rick Perry than died in commerical air crashes.

On a serious note, I know the "casual sex" thing can be a red flag. But, lets be honest, for the right person, 99% of men and a good chunk of women would put that too if they were being honest. Its not the only thing I'm looking for but to deny that its an option is a pretty transparent lie, so there it is.
