The past year has been pretty topsy turvy. Everything about my previous job went completely insane and I ended up living in NYC for work over the winter. I made the most of it and got any lingering desire to live in NYC out of my system. I returned to Philly convinced that NYC is only for the young and/or mega-rich. Or both. So I consummated my long-term relationship with Philly (I was the sole holdout among the two of us), bought a house in South Philly, and then got a new job. Either I'm still in the honeymoon phase or I genuinely like my job and the people I work with. I still get kind of bummed that I wasn't able to make a career of journalism. But hey - next time don't wait until an entire industry is transforming into an impenetrable cocoon, with me on the outside. Lesson learned.
So I'm pretty athletic: running, swimming, biking, triathlons, marathons, weight lifting. Yadda yadda. I used to compete a whole lot, but lost the desire. It became hard to parlay coming in somewhere between top 5%-20% into a reason to wake up at 5 or 6am on Sunday mornings. So now I just run around the city shirtless.
I like, appreciate, value, and spend my time doing a lot more. Travel, reading about politics, mediating, and other fun stuff. Feel free to ask.
