I am very intelligent and enjoy someone else who is as well. That could be you.
I am a pragmatic liberal Democrat. I spent 25 years in politics in various roles so I am a bit cynical, but, small flames of idealism are popping up in the ashes of my political past. If you supported Herman Cain or Ron Paul for President, do not contact me. Hope that's not you.
I believe that friendship is fine as far as it goes, and I have many "friends" who are female. I seek more, however. than friendship or a pleasant evening at the movie or CSO. I believe that a relationship must have physical as well as emotional and intellectual intimacy to be complete. If you want to spend endless amounts of time "getting to know each other", I do not. At my age, time is an important consideration. If you want to just go out to dinner a couple of times a month, and are busy, busy, busy, let's not waste each other's time. If you are too busy to find love, why are you here? Hope that's not you.
I think that I am one of the more interesting people you will ever meet. I have been to 43 countries, am a Certified Chicago tour guide, lived on a sailboat, been a lobbyist in Wisconsin, got my Masters (History) 12 years ago from the University of Chicago, worked this last year for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and have a great sense of humor in a rather strange, offbeat way. I am in good health, as far as I know, and am active including camping, leisurely biking, scuba diving, downhill skiing, and would enjoy someone who can push me to do more in that area. That could be you.
I am a culture vulture and am a habitue' at Hottix, the CSO, and the Landmark Cinema. I love movies, ethnic dining, cooking at home, the Met Opera in HD, MPark concerts, and all that kind of stuff. I usually see at least two or three movies a week. I am a White Sox fan but could possibly accept a mixed relationship with someone of the Cub Nation. That could be you but we need to talk about that.
I am more into experiences than things. I have most of the things that I want, but want to DO much more than I am doing now. I am not rich, but I am not poor. I can carry my own weight financially and hope that you can as well. If you are looking for someone to support you, please look elsewhere. I plan to take more time now to smell the roses with my best friend. It could be you.
There is one caveat. I will not live in the suburbs. I live two blocks from the Lake, and really do not like to drive out of the city much. I use my Senior Pass on the CTA and am not crazy about long trips out to the ends of the earth (like Joliet). I live in far north Chicago, on the Red Line, near the Lake and the Evanston line, and Evanston is about as far afield as I am interested in going. I am a city mouse. I love Chicago, and I don't think I would ever consider moving - especially "Into the Wild" (Hinsdale, Naperville, Wilmette, Morton Grove, etc., etc.) BUT, I should add that, if I find the right partner, relocation is possible anywhere except the 'burbs. Paris? Puerto Vallarta? Is that you? P.S. If the Republicans had won in 2012, I might have moved to Vancouver.
I wait for someone. Can it be that it's You?
