Hello. I've come to the conclusion that my previous profile was not exactly good and so I'll attempt to improve. It's pretty difficult to convey a dry, somewhat sarcastic personality in print without appearing somewhat boring but there you go. I'm rather different in person and rarely serious outside work.

I've always been drawn to the offbeat or alternative in life, whether that be people, the arts or travel. I grew up with punk rock which shaped much of my early ideas about life, morality and many things in between and although my tastes may have changed or expanded I'm still a rocker at heart. The last three shows I went to were Shonen Knife, Nicki Minaj and Zappa plays Zappa - I'll let you figure out which one I enjoyed the least.

Why am I here? Although I'm hardly shy or lacking in general confidence I seem to have a total incapability for actually approaching an unknown girl in a pub, whether it be someone I really find attractive and want to chat up, or someone who just looks cool and seems like they'd be a decent conversation. I'm constantly told to read The Game and other pick up artist stuff, play the numbers game and generally become a bit of a tw4t but that's not particularly the way I want to go. So I'm here.

I love my career in software, the only downside being the occasional late nights/weekend work. I take enough holidays to make up for it though.

Making my hair messy regardless of weather.

My smile, my sometimes unkempt hair, my lack of fashion..

Books: Kafka, Vonnegut, the things I read in school which I still adore like Austen, Shakespeare, Steinbeck, lots of non-fiction on politics, history or technology

Movies: Classics from Welles onwards, world cinema, sci-fi B movies, French horror, blockbusters. Pretty much everything really.

Shows: The guilty pleasures of US TV like Dexter, The Walking Dead, Homeland, Game of Thrones etc, lots of the successful recent Scandinavian serials, UK comedies like Spaced, Big Train, Partridge and more.

I'm not necessarily looking for someone with exactly the same tastes as me!

Passport, a cashcard and a phone with network connection. Added to friends, family and happiness.

The future. Or the beginnings of the universe.

.. out after work for a few cocktails and depending on how it goes either carrying on until karaoke or making a swift exit to meet friends in the suburbs...

I cry at almost every episode of DIY SOS.
