So, about me. Ummm... If you were to describe me like a forecast,
it would be something like "partly lazy with a high chance of
scattered wit. Expect random bursts of brilliance." I recently
described the process of making friendship bread as "a baking
circle jerk." I am a total whore for physical affection. I am the
proud owner of the world's cutest dog. People have told me she
looks like a baby lion, a hyena, and Alf. I like to take her for
walks. I am constantly hitting my head on things. I love to cook
and am happy to live in a place with a stove again. I know how to
play several musical instruments, but have not really done so since
high school. I would love to start/be in some sort of choir. I am
in favor of get rich quick schemes. I love road trips. I am a
feminist, and if
queer were a
political perspective I would consider myself a member.
Jerri Blank is my
favorite fictional character. I'm getting greener all the time, and
am big on
recycling and such. My bedroom is a
perpetual disaster. I would like to travel more, but lack of funds
prohibit me from doing so. I like to paint. Walls, not paintings.
But if you give me a canvas I'll go to town.
Reading. Being smart. Harmonizing. Long conversations about
important issues. Procrastinating. Film, gender and queer theory.
Being stubborn. Staying up too late. Empathizing. Baking. Long
conversations about nothing. Being hilarious and generally awesome.
What I think: My curly hair. Or my laugh.
But more probably: My ample bosom.

people, you should message me.

Judd
Apatow is the man. I have written more on
Superbad than any other single
film.
TV:
Freaks
and Geeks, Heroes, 30 Rock, My So Called Life, Arrested
Development, The Office (both versions),
21 Jump Street,
Strangers With
Candy, Planet Earth, Weeds. I don't own a television, so I use
hulu a lot. I'm also interested in television academically. For
instance, did you know that the US and New Zealand are the only two
countries that allow pharmaceutical advertising on television? I
wrote a paper about it. And, like many things that are potentially
dangerous, it makes money so it must be a good idea. Or is
it?
Music: Fiona Apple,
Rufus Wainwright, Sigur Ros,
Postal Service, Bob Marley, The Decemberists, Elliot Smith, Scissor

Food: Mexican, Indian, Thai, Italian. The only real genre of food I
can't get with is sushi. I can't get past the whole raw fish thing,
and I'm not a big seafood person to begin with. I have a terrible
weakness for chocolate. Especially dark chocolate. Coffee. Pizza
with green peppers, tomatoes, and feta cheese. French toast. I hate
salad dressing and most sauces/condiments. I'm trying to go
vegetarian, but it's hard.
My dog. Hilarity. Sex. Inside jokes. Snow. Captain Morgan. Books.
My glasses. Movies. Intelligent conversations. I realize that's
more than six.
Oh god, I spend way too much time thinking about everything. I am a
chronic overthinker. I can think myself into and out of things and
then back into them if given enough time. I think about my
relationships, homosociality, get rich quick schemes, my dear
friends who are scattered about the world and who I miss terribly,
Judd Apatow, the cleaning I should be doing, inside jokes, what to
read next, things that make me sad, the intersection of gender,
sexuality, and class, what I should wear, my dogs, things that make
me laugh, what I'm doing with my life, my family, what I'm going to
do with my life, and just about everything else.
If I'm not working, I'm watching movies with friends or at a bar.
Preferably one with karaoke.
You love Strangers With Candy. You know what all three of those
words at the top of this page mean. You are concerned about the
fate of the planet. You want to smoke a bowl. You have an excellent
sense of humor. You have some sort of video game system you'd like
to kick my ass on. You have a deep need to show me your favorite
bar/cafe/bookstore/bowling alley. You want a new friend. You find
me at all interesting. No psychos need apply.
