My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
What to say.. well I'm sure we've all got our kinks, but I like to think I'm a pretty decent guy. I'm independent, organised, open minded and down to earth. Or so I hope anyway, as they're fairly important qualities, right? I try to be the best person I can be, both for myself and for others, as corny as it sounds. You give what you get.. and get what you give.. ya-di-ya-da.

I'm probably happiest when I'm active, being creative, or when I'm down by the coast.. or in fact just when I'm somewhere relaxed with friends/family where we're all just enjoying the great company. I've got a positive outlook on life, or at least I have a good sense of humour which nicely bends things to that way of thinking.

I love trying new things and try to say 'yes' to as many things as I can.. as I've found life can serve you up some pretty nice surprises when you put yourself out there. I can also see the value in recharging batteries though so I'm no stranger to the sofa when the time calls.

I'm here to see if I can find other like-minded people, and who knows maybe even that special someone to share the ride with.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Just finished a batch of physio for my knee so hoping to get back to running ASAP.. Meanwhile yoga and swimming have taken over, and with my gym membership I've even enjoyed trying out new pools in town after work, current fave being the Grade II listed one on Marshall Street.

Recent fascination with coffee has resulted in me picking up a broken coffee machine via Freecycle - which I may not keep but I am determined to fix it. I like to cook and recently dusted off one of my strangest birthday presents, a vegan cookbook - the jury is still out about whether pineapple in stirfry is acceptable.

Love going to see live comedy - the improv nights at the Comedy Store are still great and the other week at a recording of a TV show I realised how much I like Romesh Ranganathan and Aisling Bea. I'm also about to try my hand at learning violin.. or the piano..

Beyond all I work in Soho at a visual effects company where I'm a web developer - recently I've been taking on more of the design side of things too which is great, and thankfully the people in my team are lovely. I was a manager before but I think I'm happier being more of a 'doer' as I am now.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
.. things involving co-ordination, e.g. tennis, dancing and even a bit of juggling, creative things involving computers (photo/movie editing, web design, etc), listening and talking to people, making people laugh, choosing and wrapping gifts, making a fairly mean cupcake.

Film:

I do love watching a good film, whether that be at home, at the cinema, or on a rooftop sitting on deckchairs. I'm quite the geek so all the usual Wars/Trek/Rings/_man films are good. But then you can take that back to my real favourites which include Back to the Future, The Shawshank Redemption, Good Will Hunting and American Beauty. More recent faves include Drive, District 9, Inception, Gravity and The Grand Budapest Hotel.. but so many more.

TV:

Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Walking Dead, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Black Mirror, Inside No. 9 and Gogglebox seem to be my don't-miss list at the moment. From the past we're a lot of British humour like Alan Partridge, Black Adder, Fawlty Towers, Red Dwarf, The Office, Spaced etc.

Music:

I like a fairly varied mix, in fact most things besides heavy metal. The National, Muse, Alt-J, Foals, Bon Iver, M83, Daft Punk, Faithless, Disclosure, Fleet Foxes, Of Monsters and Men, Sam Smith, Sia and The xx.. is a little random snapshot. I'm also really into music used in films, faves composers include John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Thomas Newman and Clint Mansell.

Shows:

Still mildly obsessed with how good 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time' was.. the stage design and just how they translated the book as a whole. 'Book of Mormon' I found very funny like most people, so that tells you where my level of humour is at.

Food:

I like everything except celery. Unless there's houmous available for dipping, then we're fine :)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
.. a good bowl of muesli and a tall cup of tea to start the day, my prescription goggles so I'm not a complete blind-o when swimming, good shoes and music especially to make quick 5k runs all the better, occasional dabbles into tennis and basketball, a reason or accomplice to make time for a dance, trips to the buildings I feel my most comfortable in: cinemas, escapes to the country/seaside, big doses of comedy.. and I could try narrowing all this down to only 6 items but it'd be pretty tough.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
.. what I'm going to eat next, getting away to the coast for some fresh air, whether I've got enough jars of pesto stocked up in the cupboard.
