My self-summary
I'm totally that person who fills her Netflix queue with award-winning dramas and historical documentaries, and then actually watches Friends and Charmed, again. I have stayed up until the wee hours of the morning devouring flamewars on feminist blogs despite having an exam the next morning, multiple times, but have never even tried read Ulysses. I have no desire to do outdoorsy mountain things, but I'd love to find someone to snuggle on the couch with while watching cheesy, campy, so-bad-it's-good movies.
What I’m doing with my life
Finishing my bachelors in history, and applying for PhD programs so that I can study domestic and sexual abuse.
I’m really good at
Research, and morbid humor.

Webcomics: Hyperbole and a Half, Hark! A Vagrant, XKCD

Movies: Star Wars, V For Vendetta, Duck Soup, Eddie Izzard in Dress to Kill, D.E.B.S., The King's Speech, Clueless, Shrek. I try to give horror movies a wide berth.

TV: Arrested Development, Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, The Good Wife, Scandal , Doctor Who, Community, Black Adder, Downton Abbey, Star Trek, Portlandia, The West Wing, Game of Thrones, The Bletchley Circle.

The six things I could never do without
Hot showers, nerdy things, furry companions, Charmin soft, cherry red nail polish by OPI, internetz.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where did the whole "if you're crazy, men with large butterfly nets will come and take you to the looney bin" trope come from? Seems to me like butterfly nets aren't really that sturdy and throwing one over a person wouldn't necessarily mean that you could drag them along into the ambulance. They could probably break out of it fairly easily, and since people don't float (as butterflies do) they'd still have their feet to guide their direction. Plus, if you're close enough to throw a butterfly net over someone, you're probably close enough to grab them by the arm and shoot them with a syringe full of tranquilizers. So just where did this idea come from? Where??
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching an old movie with a friend or playing Card Against Humanity.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
