I am driving back down, walking tall, and looking at the sky.

My Self-Summary

I watch a lot of sunsets, and generally don't wake up early enough to see sunrises. I love going out to the lake and feeling the sun on my skin all day, listening to the waves and being surrounded by endless blue. I love going running. It reminds me that I'm alive. I find it disappointing that while I have seen the arch in St. Louis, I haven't seen the arches in the Utah desert, and that I've driven down every highway in California but never sat on the beach and watched the sun set on the Pacific Ocean. There's still time for that though.

What I’m doing with my life

Some important person said that in ten years you'll regret not doing all the things you never found time to do, and that's why you should do them now. Live life now, while you're young, because you don't know how long you've got here, and so on. I think that's important. I'm addicted to new experiences, and learning new things. I crave adventure! Teach me something new, tell me something I don't know.

I’m really good at

I was a shy kid growing up but I've gotten good at filling a conversation. I remember when I was too shy to talk I appreciated a person who could talk about anything and could make an effort to draw me out, so I try to do that for other people now. I don't mind long silences though. You can read a person's soul between the words.

The first things people usually notice about me

I don't really get it but lately people have been walking up to me in the grocery store and asking for advice on cooking stuff. Which is really weird because I don't have a stove. At my home people notice the huge amount of books I have because I love to read.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I think Willa Cather is great and Kurt Vonnegut is hilarious. Lately I've been reading a lot of Cassie Miles, Aimee Thurlo and Julie Miller because intrigues are like a one day vacation.

Movies: Casino, Enemy at the Gates, Cold Mountain, Legend, American Beauty, Harold and Kumar, Pride and Prejudice, American History X, Dangerous Liaisons, Star Trek

Music: Jason Aldean, Something Corporate, Faderhead, Chevelle, Don Omar, Boards of Canada, DJ Sonix, George Strait, Rise Against, Armor For Sleep, Keith Urban

Food: You name the restaurant, I can find something I'll like. I'm partial to steaks, indian food, ham and pineapple pizzas. All week I eat pretty boring raw foods like fruit, vegetables, almonds, deli cut meat, cereal, so on the weekend I like to go buy something that was actually cooked.

And TV: I watch Nip/Tuck, Lost, Fringe, and old Star Trek reruns

The six things I could never do without

my truck, my blackberry, external hard drives, acidophilus, intelligence, and a map in my head of where I want to go

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I think about beating my last 2 mile time, minimalism, cereal, how long it would take to get to Cheyenne, Dallas, the first place in line, Vega...

On a typical Friday night I am

Hunting, fishing, out of town, or laying around the house with a good book.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I don't give a damn about money. It is useless other than using it to buy freedom, like the freedom to travel or to eat steak and pizza on the same day. I've spent this year giving/selling most of what I own and I don't miss most of it.

You should message me if

Message me if some days all you do is watch the sky. Also if we have talked before I'd love to hear from you again.
