My self-summary
I am geeky, and a creator of many things. I am a lot of things, and sometimes confusing things all at once. I am laid back in general, and very particular in my ways and home. I am a shy, unremarkable appearing woman who has a strong warrior spirit and is submissive in the bedroom only. I need private space and time to be alone when I need it, but I also need some social time, and still wish for a significant other who would shower me with sweetness and attention which I could return. I have tried to put as much here as I can to show myself, but I feel the only way to really know someone is to spend time with them in day to day life, until you are aware of who they are.

I highly recommend LASIK surgery. I change my hair a lot. It's red right now. A friend of mine says I should mention that I've lost 60lbs this year, and still going, though it feels a bit embarrassing to mention. I've spent the year working out a few times a week and playing at bellydancing, which is awesome, and none of that's going to change. Health is high priority for me, and life feels pretty good these days.

I love finding new things to do and try. Always looking for something entertaining. I enjoy wide ranges of life, and wide ranges of personal style from time to time. I think it would be fun to dress goth and visit a goth club for a night, or to dress "cowboy" and hit a country themed bar for a night. Still going through the experimental, willing to try almost anything stage of life, I suppose. I love snowmobiling, and I would love to learn to ride a motorcycle, go hang gliding, learn to fly small planes and helicopters, ride horses, learn martial arts, etc. Will it ever all happen?

Recently I have become more and more fascinated by steampunk styles, and have begun working on some steampunk projects (such as leather buckle corsets and steampunk themed bellydance gear), as well as incorporating some Victorian aesthetic into my daily style and jewelry crafting. I also love medieval / Ren Faire fun, and love being involved with the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) where I can make and wear medieval garb (clothes), make needed items (like knife sheaths and other leather goods), camp, share mead or cordials with friends and brewers, listen to bards at the fires, do archery, axe throwing, and explore new activities like bellydancing.

I like candle making and mixing my own herbal teas (though I drink a lot of regular and green tea for the caffeine intake), and have done some home brewing. I have certification in bartending, though I'm not very well practiced- my social occasions with drink serving only come up a few times a year, and not many involve making mixed drinks. I like hitting the pub once a week for a few drinks with friends. I enjoy cooking only when I'm in the mood for it, but I always like good food. Cooking is another art to me, I prefer to do it intuitively and fairly unmeasured, and I get good results. A couple years ago I got into bento lunch making as a great hobby for small, cute boxes of cute/pretty food. I'm exploring work with essential oils for personal perfumes and massage oils. I like to say, "I do everything, and I do it well".

I enjoy work involving computers, especially digital graphics and web design. I love music - all kinds. I'm not used to having a favorite band, but now I can definitely say that Abney Park makes my favorite music. I prefer action, sci-fi, and horror movies, especially vampire movies, bad horror, and zombie movies. Preferred reading materials are pagan spirituality subjects, Greek mythology, how-to books, adventure novels, old Anne Rice novels, and Stephen King short stories. I like sci-fi, comics, superheroes, and some video games. I like artwork, including drawing, sculpting, and photography, but mainly anything in which I can take things apart or put things together. I love Halloween, and making costumes, and creating things, pretty much anything- I love projects. Sometimes I like watching football or hockey; I like playing volleyball, badminton, and things that resemble football and hockey. I love snowmobiling and would love to get one and an ATV. I also like anime and pretty things from Japan.

I love cats, and I believe they are mystical in their own right- connections between the human and the divine; I have a special appreciation for the goddess Bast, though I've not considered myself a true follower of Bast. My path is very eclectic. I believe in something of a mix of everything, and feel most comfortable with the Greek gods, particularly Aphrodite & Dionysus. I also love lakes & streams. I love the water, and I feel especially at peace at a nice lake, or by a beautiful streamfall in the woods.

What I’m doing with my life
Left college under medical conditions years ago, but I still maintain the hope to take more classes someday and eventually complete a degree. Currently working as an Admin. Assistant/Data Manager/Inventory & Shipping Manager/Computer Person type. I'm always building something or other in my endless projects, or designing something on the computer, or out on the above mentioned activities. I collect far too many things, and I'm endlessly curious and always interested in new subjects. Always interested in adding to my spiritual growth in solitary eclectic paganism.

I used to head off to aikido classes, archery, and fencing on various evenings, pagan orgs, or boffer combat. Did LARP games for a while, but I'm more at home with a casual tabletop RPG. I think acting is not my thing.

I'm looking forward to making contact with the local SCA (the Society for Creative Anachronism, the REAL medieval group to fight, camp and drink with!) as soon as events are available, I miss it from from my old home in Maine. Other than that, I spend my free time reading and studying personal interests, working on my projects, playing online, and watching movies with friends. Depending on the time of year, I may be working on a detailed costume.

I spend some time taking care of my fish and plants. I desperately miss having a good cat, and I hope I don't have to wait too many more years to live in a cat-friendly environment and find a good kitty companion. Other than that, I spend a lot of time being exhausted from work and home duties.
I’m really good at
I'm good with artwork and projects of all kinds, including costuming - I can work with just about any medium to get the results I'm after. I just love creating. I'm good with internet-related computer work, and pretty good with digital imaging.
The first things people usually notice about me
Shyness with new people? I'm not really sure what would get noticed. I suppose I'll have to start asking people I know about that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Greek Mythology, other ancient mythologies, pagan spirituality and awareness materials, how-to books, stories by Stephen King, Watership Down, Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, Neil Gaiman's Sandman graphic novels, Grimm Fairy Tales comics, zombie comics, The Zombie Survival Guide. Aphrodite's Daughters- Women's Sexual Stories & the Journey of the Soul by Jalaja Bonheim.

Movies: Many, and of various genres. Don Juan DeMarco, Stardust, Interview with the Vampire, Hocus Pocus, Labyrinth, Legend, Princess Bride, Jackie Chan movies, Johnny Depp movies, The Lord of the Rings trilogy and other fantasy movies, Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, zombie movies and bad horror movies, and some cult classics (Rocky Horror Picture Show! And if you've never heard of it, go look for Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter).

Music: Almost anything, I love all kinds of music! - Abney Park is now my favorite, In Extremo, Hellblinki Sextet, Waves Under Water, Nightwish, Gaelic Storm, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, Young Dubliners, Blackmore's Night, Loreena McKennitt, Zox, Paranoid Social Club, Reel Big Fish, Ian Van Dahl, Lasgo, ATC, Rollergirl, Cascada, Inkubus Sukkubus, Medieval Babes, David Bowie, The Doors, The Killers, Nickelback, Seether, Three Days Grace, Godsmack, Velvet Revolver, Shinedown, Hinder, Our Lady Peace, Evanescence, Disturbed, System of a Down, Billy Idol's Cyberpunk album, Journey, Grass Roots, Cream, Hendrix, too damn many others from the 60s to now, especially 80s. Just about anything, for whatever mood I'm in. Generally not rap or country, but even those genres have a few decent songs. I also love the odd yet beautiful songs that come along once in a while, like "Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth With Money in My Hand" by Primitive Radio Gods, "Counting Blue Cars" by Dishwalla, "Pepper" by Butthole Surfers, etc.

Food: sushi, Japanese food, Thai food, some Indian food, some medieval food, fish/seafood (except for lobsters, they're just giant water bugs, bleh). I love good, unusual foods. I think I'd love to try everything they show in the Asia episodes of Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern.

TV: True Blood, How I Met Your Mother, Burn Notice, Bones, Heroes, Smallville, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (the internet series by Joss Whedon), Buffy, Angel, Charmed, Hercules, Xena, Firefly, Star Trek (most series), LEXX, CSI, Conan O'Brien, Reno 911, Frisky Dingo and other Adult Swim shows, etc, etc. Most things fantasy/sci-fi or set in ancient times or just twisted/funny and cool.
The six things I could never do without
*music to stir the emotions and inspire the soul *strong romantic love and cuddling *creativity and my personal projects, studying, and pursuits *cats *good and unusual foods *favorite technological gadgets, and internet maybe..

Really, I don't think I could get by without music. My iPod is like an IV. I spend all day listening to my huge range of music (I think shuffle on my iPod would confuse the hell out of any normal person), and dancing whenever I think no one is looking.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I love learning, so I spend a lot of time thinking about many, many odd things that need looking up. There's always something to think about. I'm curious about pretty much everything. And I like learning how to do nearly everything.

Generally I think about all kinds of stuff, weird/random things, and love that only seems possible in stories [and how close I think I once was].

I think I may be a hopeless romantic. Whatever it is that I am, I love old love songs of passion, need and happiness (and techno filled with the love of love and life - odd combo?), and I am searching for my second chance at "romantic, passionate, nothing bad matters because we're so happy together and of course we'll get through it in time and get everything we want, together we're happy all the time" kind of love. At the same time, I have spent nearly 10 years of my life in a few long-term relationships that failed, and I'm fairly tired of them. I feel that I'll never know how many people I never met because I was unavailable, and I may have missed my real shot somewhere in the mix. My goals at the present are to throw myself into the single lifestyle, and remain open and available until I find someone with which there is no question that they are it, if such a thing is possible.
On a typical Friday night I am
If not hanging out with friends, then sitting at home with the computer or TV/movies- often while working on a project- usually, or maybe a good book. If I really have nothing to do, I might get into my stack of PS2 games which rarely get used, or play a game on the computer.

(I seem to fit in well with gamers, but I don't often play games, I just have too many things I want to do, and too many of which never seem to get done. Also, while I enjoy gamers and games, I will get tired of watching someone else spend too much more time staring at a computer screen than cuddling with me. :P)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
3 things, I suppose.

I have in the past lost my sanity by lack of sleep- late night madness has resulted in me scanning myself and emailing the picture for a bet. Craziness in life will bring you much joy. :)

I have a very dual nature. I never seem to fit in very well anywhere simply because it seems I could fit in just about anywhere. I have a hard time getting close to anything or anyone because I love almost everything.

And last, I have been missing college very much, and I regret that I allowed personal trauma and financial complications to throw off the track of my education, and it's beginning to become quite an embarrassment. I like to hang out with grad students, and I value intelligence. I prefer people who can type well. I get very agitated reading a profile that is overloaded with lowercase letters, typos, run-on sentences, missing apostrophes, and confusing mashed together statements. I hate profiles like that, as I feel I am not connecting with an intelligent individual when facing such a poor typing style. In any case, more and more now I wish I had the credentials of further education to offer to those who might find my profiles so they might be more likely to consider me. Hell, it'd probably be nice for jobs too, though I do like my current job.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 21–42
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You found my profile interesting and would like to chat, maybe hang out a bit. You might catch me on Yahoo Messenger as kittygirlcgp. You could also email me there if you like.

Another dating site asks, "How would you describe an ideal first date?" I wrote: I have no idea what to put here. There's the standard quiet, meet-up and chat over tea/cocoa (sorry, can't stand coffee), like the old college days on the SU couches, or an evening at the pub to chat over a beer. Attending a meeting/lecture for a common interest, then hanging out to chat. A daytrip to an SCA event where you can wander about in medieval clothes and shoot archery for a few hours, and listen to music and bard tales. Or a day at a Ren Faire. Or just a walk around outdoors to appreciate the lake/streams. Simply following the other person along on their wacky adventures. Even a crazy night checking out clubs could be good, I haven't done that in years and sometimes wish I could go see some wild clubs once in a while. I think who you're with has more to do with it than anything else.
