I am Sarcastic, Loyal, and Inquisitive.

My Self-Summary

I'm new to the area - moved here for a job in an office where all my coworkers are much older than myself, so after a while I'm kind of bored and looking for stuff to do in the area.

If you're familiar with Myers-Briggs personality types I'm a INTP, and feel that the description suits me well. I'm fairly introverted; though I give a good impersonation of an extrovert when the occasion calls for it.

I'm a big fan of movies and music; looking forward to the summer movies this year and the bands coming to Innsbrooke (though their line up isn't all that impressive this year). I also enjoy going to Pocahontas State Park.

I know it's cliche to say I don't have time to watch TV, but I usually don't (I teach at a community college on the side when I'm not busy at my main job). Although, when I do turn it on - my DVR is usually filled with programs like Planet Earth, Mythbusters, and Boondocks.

What I’m doing with my life

I work in mental health and have been teaching 1-2 classes at a local college in the fall and spring semeseters. I'm looking into more grad schools this summer and thinking about applying for another degree this winter.

I’m really good at

I'm fairly sure I'm still a geek, so the usually things that go along with that like fixing computers, and most AV equipment \ high tech gizmos.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm not sure, I'd have to ask someone; but I'll tell you one thing - something like 75% of the time I meet a patient for the first time they comment on my shoes within like 5 minutes of meeting them. I know it seems weird, I really don't think shoes are that salient for me, but seriously - it's happened more times then I can recall.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Haven't had much time for reading other than the DSM IV and textbooks lately, but I'm a big fan of classics like Of Mice and Men, The Stranger, and Lord of the Flies; I just read Grendel and loved it.

Movies: RocknRolla, Strangers Than Fictions, Little Miss Sunshine, The Maxtrix Trilogy, O Brother Where art Thou?, Bringing out the Dead.

Music: Tin Hat Trio, Nirvana, Greenday, Two Gallants, The Avett Brothers, Marcy's Playground, Soundgarden, the list could go on and on. I used to have a huge digital music collection with over 5000 mp3s but the harddrive died last year and I couldn't recover any of it :/ So I've been living off of Pandora.com lately.

TV: Some of my favorite shows include Futurama (might be the best show of all time), The Office, Red Dwarf (its a guilty pleasure), and The Daily Show.

Food: I'll try anything twice. I really enjoy going out for sushi. I'm not a picky eater by any means, though I still pick tomatoes off my sandwiches.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Deep down I like to think I'm fairly philosophical. I work with people in a pretty under served demographic with low access to resources and often find my self pondering the nature of justice, empathy, and the human condition.

On a typical Friday night I am

That depends on the season; could be out at a movie or trying a new restaurant or simply at home watching a favorite DVD I've already seen 100 times.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I was taken to the ER once because there was a Reese's Pieces stuck in my right nostril.
