My self-summary
Hi, and thanks for stopping by. How can I possibly sum everything up in the allotted space? Let's see...

The basics:
I'm a bit of an old soul, a music history nerd, quick with a joke or pun, am organized beyond belief and extremely driven. I might be one of calmest people you'll meet, yet always motivated by something. My family is awesome and we are pretty close. I love to cook and have picked up some awesome recipes over the years. I am a big believer in karma. Park Slope is my home now, and it led me to start running in the park (although, I'm not hardcore enough to rough it out in the winter).

Knowing random factoids is a specialty of mine. I really am a good storyteller; remind me to tell you about the time I ran into Jon Stewart, or when I was mistaken for a criminal. I'm a hopeless romantic. Dog lover. I play a bunch of instruments. Definitely on the nerdier side. Smiling is my favorite. Yada yada. You get the idea.

Life is awesome, but I think it'd be even more awesome to have a partner in crime to share it with. I realize that this is probably the best way to meet someone who shares these same desires. Perhaps you'd fancy meeting up over coffee or a drink?
What I’m doing with my life
I work for a major television network as a media management supervisor in content distribution. Basically, you can "thank" me for being a purveyor of some pretty terrible teen television.

I'm also a musician and writer in the post work hours. I have been fortunate enough to teach it, travel around the States and play for people, and connect with fans all over the world. And winter 2016 update- I now am in two published books, after having been interviewed and choice quotes excerpted! The book worm in me cannot begin to explain the joy in this.
I’m really good at
Managing to find a correlation between everything happening in life to something on Seinfeld or Curb.
Knowing what time it is with no clocks nearby.
Being generally affable.
British accents.
Being quite verbose (see this profile for a glimpse).
Remembering minutiae.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
(I doubt us getting along is predicated on such favorites, but I guess it doesn't hurt, and, at worst, these are great first date topics.)

Aldous Huxley. George Orwell. C.G. Jung. Chuck Klosterman. Too many rock biographies to list. Various books on psychology, Eastern religions and philosophy. And what might be my favorite- The Sheltering Sky.

Anchorman. Back to the Future. Dazed and Confused. Ghostbusters.

Seinfeld. How I Met Your Mother. Arrested Development. the Office. Always Sunny.

Music is life. Beatles, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Rush, Byrds, Neil Young, Police, Zeppelin, Radiohead, Zombies, Dungen, Tame Impala, Oasis, etc etc. Did I mention the Beatles?

Food is awesome, am I right? I am a loose pescetarian, for whatever it is worth. I absolutely love to cook meals most nights of the week. You can put pineapple or coconut in basically anything and I'll eat it (...wait, actually, that's a lie. I may love coconut, but I hate coconut water). And I have quite the affinity for cereal. And cookies.
Not to mention that I love a good single malt scotch.
The six things I could never do without
Black coffee/ green tea
Fresh fruit.
Autumn weather.
Notebook for writing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whatever I am in the midst of writing.
How Popeye cartoons were really just pro spinach propaganda.
My next meal.
How I want to start "playing" tennis. I say "playing" because I think the child in me really just wants to hit the ball from the automatic server machines. Unless you know how to actually play (without quotes) and can show me?
On a typical Friday night I am
Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I sometimes want to escape from the 9-5 and just become a writer of some sort.
You should message me if
Something I said resonates with you.

You agree to look past the awkwardness of the first few messages exchanged on here, and I will as well.

Yada, yada, yada...
