I am considerate, loyal, and laid back
As far as random activities, I try to be good at golf but since most of the time I fail at that I take comfort in my amazing miniature golf skills. I really enjoy board games, especially those involving strategy and tactics. Even though I am not an aggressive or competitive person in general when it comes to board games I am pretty ruthless, they can really get my blood up. I also excel at trivia games and have been told I know way too much "useless stuff". It's not really useless if it comes up on Jeopardy though, right?
Books: classic literature (Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Edith Wharton), fantasy (Tolkien, George Martin, Harry Potter), historical books and biographies (especially ones by McCullough), comic books and graphic novels (Alan Moore, anything Marvel). I haven't really read any other humorists but I don't think anyone could be funnier than David Sedaris, I've even seen him read a couple times.
Movies: all kinds, especially period action films (Gladiator, LA Confidential, The Untouchables), chick flicks, silly action films (Seagal, Van Damme, Bruce Willis), classic suspense films (Hitchcock), anything with John Cusack (especially High Fidelity and Say Anything), Keira Knightley, or Russell Crowe
TV: I tend to follow serial dramas, some that are silly and some that are quite amazing. My absolute favorites being LOST, The Wire (a show I think every American should watch as it is about vicious cycles perpetuated by bureaucratic inefficiency and corruption in this country's large cities), Firefly (and pretty much all other shows by Joss Whedon), The OC, BSG, Cowboy Bebop (I love how amazingly the music is integrated in to the show) and my current favorite is Mad Men. Ongoing series I watch now but not too faithfully are Grey's Anatomy, The Office, True Blood and Gossip Girl.
Music: Indie rock (my current obsessions are Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Snow Patrol, Death Cab, Jenny Lewis, Regina Spektor and Metric), pop (all that awful catchy stuff on the radio), '80s alternative (The Cure, The Smiths). I love the radio! Primarily I enjoy finding horribly catchy and embarrassing pop music to blast and sing along with in my car, which I usually turn down when arriving at a red light. I grew up listening to NPR where I picked up a taste for blues, classical and jazz. This also resulted in listening to a lot of news programs, I try to catch Diane Ream as often as possible and especially enjoy PRI's The World. Of course I also listen to a lot of Reds games due to the lameness that MLB.com blocks out Indianapolis from video streaming.
Food: coffee, Red Bull, Bawls (I live off of caffeine); steak, Fuji apples, Cheerios and milk (for any meal), anything easy to make (spaghetti, scrambled eggs, couscous); milkshakes are a weakness
I am afraid of revolving doors being pushed too hard behind me. I love going to Chicago to visit friends, but HATE those doors. One of these days I am going to get crushed to death by one. They make me seriously nervous.
