My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm rational and careful with beliefs. I break down problems, pull them apart, try to see what others miss. I'm empirical, thoughtful, and logical.

I'm curious. Documentaries, podcasts, books, and articles consume a rather large amount of my time. The universe is a wonderful place, and I can't seem to learn enough about it.

I tend to get restless. Both literally (I've never been good at falling asleep) and figuratively -- I tend to require some adventure. As an example -- moving across the country a few months ago from desolate Texas to this bay on the edge of the Pacific.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
> Programming! I work at a little startup, which is growing fast (though I wish it was growing faster).
> Various creative activities! Writing; fiction, short stories. Programming projects. Though alas, I've been on a bit of a break from this recently.
> Weekend adventures! Hiking, exploring. Skiing in the wintertime.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
> Caring for other people; thinking empathically; putting myself in someone else's shoes
> Thinking creatively; coming up with new designs, new ideas, new ways of approaching things; dreaming up fictional worlds, people, stories
> Games; strategy; thinking three moves ahead
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
A strong nose, squarish glasses, soft brown hair with a couple small white patches, and an expression that oscillates between deep concentration and goofy exuberance.

> Scifi/fantasy like the Heir to the Empire (a.k.a., "Thrawn trilogy") by Timothy Zahn and The Name of the Wind by Pat Rothfuss. I have a special place in my heart for dystopian fiction, especially 1984 by George Orwell.

> Books on ethics/philosophy like Moral Tribes: Emotion, Reason, and the Gap Between Us and Them by Joshua Greene

> Sci-fi dramas that try and say something interesting about us as a species like Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and Black Mirror
> Dark, character-driven, plot-heavy epics like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and House of Cards
> Documentaries like Cosmos

3:10 to Yuma, A Man From Earth, The Dark Knight, A Single Man, Pacific Rim, Cloverfield and many more. Recent favorites include Frozen and Her.

Things that are edible. I tend to enjoy the context of food more than the food itself, to be honest.
