My self-summary
i've left my profile empty for so long just because i had no idea how to describe myself. i'm far better in conversation than i am in trying to make myself sound cool. but here goes...

i'm an information sponge, intrigued by art, film, language, music, culture, travel, food, mysticism, occultism, history, sociology, psychology, dance, comedy, intellect, nonfiction, architecture, engineering. i frequently want to do a thousand things at the same time. i love to talk to people about their passions and inspirations, and i love to inspire them and help them see past their blocks. due to my sponginess, i probably know enough about what you're into to hold a conversation, and if i don't i will absorb as much as i can about it from you. i'm predictably spontaneous and spontaneously predictable.

i've got an ADHD brain but not in a socially irritating way, just in the sense that i have a soft rain of disjointed post-it notes floating around in my head 24 hours a day. i love to do yoga, run, meditate, learn about religious and spiritual practices, and have deep conversations with unique new yorkers. I like to learn from experience and progressively overcome minor delusions or prejudices I may hold subconsciously. I joke around a lot, and my humor varies from esoteric references to downright stupid and deadpan. I will find a way to make you laugh.

I am into astrology and like to use my knowledge to relate better with others. I'm into quirky, creative, independent women who can be caring and sweet but also gritty, ballsy, and powerful, have interesting taste in music, art, food, and can talk openly and not care too much about social norms (ie: if there's an awkward situation, say "okkkk well this is an awkward situation..") and use that as a bridge back to being on the same wavelength. I do that as often as I can. Communication helps everything stay balanced.
What I’m doing with my life
working varied short term jobs/making music/figuring shit out
I’m really good at
knowing random factoids, getting really excited about a project, planning and organizing, driving (i've started looking into stunt driving schools...but am decidedly not a car douche), producing and playing music, conversation, fixing electronics and computers, being an armchair therapist and an armchair masseuse, yoga, meditation, psychedelic travels, world travels, making people feel comfortable and welcome.
The first things people usually notice about me
my smile, my eyes, or the sense that if social norms in new york were more relaxed we'd have an interesting conversation seconds after we lock eyes on the sidewalk.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
music: bosnian rainbows, nicolas jaar, james blake, primus, mars volta, opeth, yeah yeah yeahs, fiona apple, puscifer, king crimson, dirty projectors, battles, can, junip, tool, miles davis, brian eno, lcd soundsystem, squarepusher, tom waits, trentemoller, simian mobile disco, animal collective, les claypool, omar rodriguez lopez, scott walker, rabih abou khalil
The six things I could never do without
meaningful interaction
interesting music
vegan food
the internets
travel/exploration
creativity
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what i'm going to do next... should i drop everything and become a steelwelder? should i sell all my possessions and travel across the country playing shows? should i move to nepal and meditate in a monastery for 6 months? should i spend every waking minute building a massive installation to take to burning man (though I've never been)? decisions, decisions, decisions... i'm sure the right answer is much simpler and i just need to go with the flow, but scatterbrain holds sway much of the time.
On a typical Friday night I am
either exploring the brooklyn nightlife in an attempt to meet interesting people (which doesn't happen often enough), making music at home or with friends, an intimate night with friends, going to a show or just laying low and reading/writing/watching a movie
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
i was really shy, quiet, and depressed up until i was 18 when i did mushrooms for the first time. thanks to those first few trips, i began eating healthier, exercising regularly, pursuing my passions, making friends, trusting myself, and developing a spiritual practice. i dropped out of high school due to depression, during which I practiced guitar and bass 6-10 hours a day. a few years later, an acid trip inspired me to get a GED; which I got three weeks later.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 20–32
  • Near me
  • For new friends
You should message me if
You find something you like about me or think we'd connect, if you're into trippy shit, if you're funny and full of life, if you have diverse tastes, if you're kinky ;)

I've noticed that on here, as in real life, women expect the men to make the first move, which is understandable, and I do frequently... but it is a huge turn on when a girl messages first, even if she doesn't know what to say.

Also, this whole 'star rating' system seems pointless, because unless a message is sent nobody seems to care who 'chose' who. And a sincere apology from me on behalf of all men on here who pester women who they have no chemistry with and spew half-witted and sometimes insulting messages.

Jesus, I went from an empty profile to one that's retardedly long. Oh well.
