My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a student, currently attending college for a computer science degree. I'm pretty laid back most of the time. I take a lot of things less seriously than most people, and try to take other things more seriously than I think most people care to. I really dig music, writing, and the internet, among other things. I do that Tumblr thing, too.

I practice polyamory, though of late I'm starting to slide in the direction of relationship anarchy. My profile may or may not say "Seeing Someone" to other users but in point of fact I'm seeing multiple someones. People are fucking cool, why limit oneself?

I try to operate in solidarity with feminism. If I fuck up, call me out.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I'm working on my CS undergrad. This semester I'm taking classes at a local university, but I'm expecting to be back in California next spring. Recently I seem to bounce around a lot between Ohio, Colorado, and California--I imagine I'll end up sticking around one of them eventually. I'm currently spending most days in class and most nights listening to music and screwing around on the internet, with work and sleep happening somewhere in there.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I write fairly regularly, so I imagine I'm not bad at it. Every so often I hammer out some poetry but I'm not sure I'd call it "really good". I used to be pretty good at drawing, but I let myself get rusty. I'm excellent at discovering things, including things about myself and the way the world works (which I find really damn cool). I'm also good at knowing about things on the internet. It's very important and serious.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a very open person--not in an over-sharing sense, but if someone wants to know something about me or what I'm thinking, I have very few reservations in telling them. To be honest I'm kind of timid, but I must do a good job of pretending I'm not, because nobody seems to realize it. One person even told me once that I have a "larger-than-life sort of personality". I don't actually know what that means. Go figure.
I laugh very easily.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books:
William Gibson - Neuromancer
Mark Z. Danielewski - House of Leaves
John Green - Paper Towns
Philip Pullman - His Dark Materials trilogy

Comics:
Print: Flight, RE:Play, Sandman, Scott Pilgrim, Transmetropolitan, Wasteland, Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse, and others.
Web: I have read too many webcomics to enumerate, but the ones I currently check most actively are Girls With Slingshots, Questionable Content, Gunnerkrigg Court, Homestuck, Kagerou, Supernormal Step, and The Less than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal.

Movies:
I tend to like to think when I watch movies, so sometimes my tastes veer to the artsy, other times the straight-up surreal. If there's a strong element of mindfuckery, I call it a plus. That's not the only kind I like, though. A few: In Bruges, Akira, Animatrix, The Usual Suspects, Cabin in the Woods, Let the Right One In. I also seriously love the 1995 movie Hackers. It's perfect in a way that is difficult to describe.

Shows:
A few random things and a selection of anime, e.g. Ghost in the Shell, Ergo Proxy, Cowboy Bebop. Cop dramas are my anti-drug. This summer I also shotgunned all or most of Game of Thrones, Supernatural, Hannibal, and Black Books. I've started but haven't finished Breaking Bad, much to my inconvenience.

Vidya games:
Several. Braid, Skyrim, Assassin's Creed, Brood Wars, Warcraft 3, Age of Empires, Halo (haven't played in a while). Many things Flash. Cookie Clicker.

Music:
Summarizing the music I listen to is a fucking difficult task. I'm mostly into various kinds of electronic music, but I also listen to non-generic rock, rap, hip-hop, funk, and some other stuff. Here's an abbreviated list of artists to give an idea of the spread:
Aesop Rock, Bassnectar, Boards of Canada, Cake, Caravan Palace, Celldweller, Company of Thieves, Crystal Castles, edIT, El-P, The Faint, FC Kahuna, The Flashbulb, Four Tet, DJ Fresh, MC Frontalot, Gorillaz, Haywyre, IAMX, Justice, KOAN Sound, LukHash, Machinae Supremacy, The Mars Volta, Metric, Miike Snow, Muse, Nephew, Netsky, Noisia, Pendulum, Phantogram, Pretty Lights, The Qemists, Ratatat, Röyksopp, she, Sonny Moore, Sub Focus, Telefon Tel Aviv, They Might Be Giants, Tom Lehrer, Unlimited Gravity, Virtual Boy, Wolfgang Gartner, Zabutom

If you have any music that you think I might like, or read any books recently that made you go "holy shit that was good", let me know! I'm always on the lookout, seriously.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Things I would prefer not to do without:
0) Introspection. (Yeah, I index from zero. So I'm a CS major and I'm an asshole, what do you want.)
1) My laptop, and/or the internet. It's how I keep in contact with a lot of my friends, and also how I defeat boredom.
2) A notebook. I carry a Moleskine in my back pocket at all times, to write down things I think of or notice.
3) Music. I'm a firm believer in the power of good sound.
4) The ability to take things less seriously--particularly myself.
5) Friends. I can't always stand to be around some of them, but I definitely couldn't get by without them.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a fair amount of time thinking about the why and how of human interaction. People are bloody fascinating! Other frequent occupants of my brainspace are poetry, feminism, friends, and sex. I also spend a lot of time thinking about fiction, and am pretty much constantly engaged in world-building.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
There are only like, four things about myself that I would actually not feel comfortable telling most people, so I guess that means there's a lot to choose from. To be honest though, I'm at a loss. Guess I'll get back to this. By all means though, if you can think of embarrassing questions to ask me first, then I'll give the embarrassing answers.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You think we might find each other interesting, you want somebody to talk to, or you find yourself awake at uncommon hours of the night. Also, contact me immediately if you have cool music for me to hear.
Also uh, feel free to message me whether or not you identify as female! I know this is a dating website, and that it says "straight" up at the top there under my username, but that's kind of just an approximation, and I'm here to meet people anyway.
