I moved to DC several years ago from Upstate NY. For those unfamiliar, we have two seasons up there: winter and construction. I'm a high school teacher and coach. I like to work out and I enjoy outdoor activities (running and biking being my favorites). I speak fluent sarcasm. I'm genuine. I'm a terrible cook but a gifted eater. I also apparently enjoy filling in boxes that tell people about me. I have also decided that I am not important enough to need to have my phone out and on in front of me at the gym, at a bar, or at dinner. I like to give my attention to the people I am with.

I have also never taken a picture of myself with my phone, shirtless, in the bathroom mirror.

Recently, my sister accompanied me to a play at the school where I teach. One my students approached me, and after being introduced to her, asked my sister if the sarcasm ran in the family.

I know the difference between "their," "there," and "they're." I also know the difference between arcsine and sine inverse.

I've been teaching for twelve years and I love it. I also work out just about every day. Not because I'm training for anything. I used to run competitively, but my shins don't really like that anymore. Now I just stay fit because I feel good and I can defeat all of my students in feats of strength.

This past summer I spent a month in Tanzania. I saw a rhino. I volunteered at an orphanage with some wonderful, beautiful children. Then I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Finding the humor in just about every situation. And math. I've also been called "the human GPS" by my friends.

Apparently my eyes are very, very blue. Oh, and sarcasm.

No one man should have all that power.

Out at a happy hour with friends or collapsing on the couch with Netflix. It really all depends on the week. It's funny, after a week of teaching I often find myself "really needing a drink" for different reasons.

I loved the movie "Where the Heart Is"
