My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well that is the question isn't it? Who am I... You know I don't think anyone really knows themselves truly. But those important people in their lifes really do. So my friends tell me that I am a man with a scientific mind that talks to much. They say I'm goofy way more than I'm ever serious and that I have a playful heart. Do I know these things to be true? Eh, I'll let you be the judge of that.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I went back to school much later in life, when I was 32, and I haven't looked back since. I wrote the rough draft to a book. It's pretty awful so please don't ask about it. Believe me when I say you don't have to be good to write a book, you just have to have a lot of free time on your hands.

When I went back to school I got my degree in Physics, probably not the easiest choice but eh, physicists are gluttons for punishment. I got into graduate school at UW-Madison in the Engineering Physics department and well I got my masters and now I'm pursuing my Ph.D.

So my main goal is to become a physics professor and a smaller university. I'm very close to finishing my degree and moving on. Over time I've come to realize a professor is the only thing I've every really wanted to be.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Well I'm really good at forgetting things. I'm exceptional and screwing up and I take pride in my ability pull defeat from the jaws of victory as the saying goes. Those are my most endearing qualities, I'm also decently good at physics and math. But not english, I'm not an english major, never have been good at writing. It is just not a skill set I possess. I can also spin a pin around my thumb. I've been doing it for years and while I haven't quite mastered it yet I'm pretty darn good at it. I can cook, only a handful of dishes mind you, but those I know I'm really good at.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Most people notice that I'm on the tall side (6'2"). I also have a tendency to talk a lot. I've tried to curb this tendency but often if I'm in the middle of a very lively discussion I can't help myself.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm a PhD student in Engineering Physics. While I would like to spend more time reading for fun. I'm constantly finding myself with my head buried into some annoying engineering text book. So this list is not long, (Only three books.) But they are great books if you are into sci-fi.

1. Foundation
2. Foundation and Empire
3. Second Foundation

My favorite movie of all time is Shawshank Redemption. I will watch just about any movie with Denzel Washington or Morgan Freeman in it. For foods I like Indian and Mexican.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Food.
2. Water.
3. Sight.
4. My ability to think. (Alzheimer's would be a fate worse than death for me.)
5. Sandals (I do wear them even in the winter time. Yes I do wear socks with them, call it tacky if you want to but it is really comfortable. Don't knock it till you try it I say.)
6. The internet, I'm addicted I know.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The world around us and how we treat one another. I often think about what can be done to make a change. This seems very daunting at times. Other than that it is...

I'm really sorry if you find that to be very dull but I am in a PhD program. Either go big or go home I say.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Studying Math and Physics. While this seems REALLY nerdy... Well it is but I'm not that bad really I promise you. I only do this because 1. I want to and 2. I need to in order to justify the degree being granted to me. However that is not every Friday night. Most of the time I'm just sleeping in trying to recover from the 60 plus hours I just worked in the lab. Only being a PhD student is hard work.

So when I'm not working on math and physics or sleeping in I'm probably watching something on Netflix. I'd like to say something really flashing and impressive here but honestly, I got nothing. I would however be very interested in trying something, ANYTHING, new and I'm open for suggestions.
