My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello, my name is Christopher. I really enjoy learning new things, how to fix things, how to cook new things, how everything around me works. I learn with my hands and through trial and error. I learn something new everyday, something new from everyone I meet. Mental stimulation is a must on a daily basis. I'm confident I can hold a conversation with anybody about pretty much anything. I enjoy talking to strangers.
Debating certain topics is always fun, especially when beer and friends are involved.
I am an atheist, I don't like the label but it's what best describes my faith (or lack thereof). I know that right there is probably a deal breaker for a lot of people but I've done the whole religion thing and it just doesn't make any sense to me. I'm generally a pretty carefree person who just goes with the flow and adapts to life as it comes. I'm pretty sure that's all one can really do anyway.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Studying to take the MCAT. I'm currently working towards a bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I have an Associate's Degrees in both subjects but can't do much with either of them. Hopefully I'll be going into the medical field, that is my true passion. The natural world and the human body never cease to amaze me.
I have plans to travel all over the world someday, perhaps Doctors Without Borders or something of the like. I want to put my knowledge to good use, not just at home but abroad as well.
I've worked for a university museum's Research Lab and participated in ecological and environmental field research in west Texas for the Texas Dept of Parks and Wildlife. That was really fun but medicine is my main interest.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making puns. Referencing movies in every day situations. Speaking with my hands. Making people laugh in awkward situations. Inventing my own life-hacks. Hanging out with my cat, Walter. Waiting for the absolute last possible minute to get homework done. Helping little old ladies reach things on the top shelf at the grocery store. Problem solving. Fixing things, mechanics is one of my hobbies. Working with my hands, building something from any number of parts and making things work. Working on old muscle cars. Thats what makes me happy.
Cooking is also something I really enjoy, it's very relaxing, even though I've probably got some crazy music blaring in the kitchen. Putting ingredients together that alone, are unremarkable to make something amazing is pretty fun. Then after you're done cooking there's food to eat so that's always a plus. I love dishwashers.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably my height and my beard.
Maybe my awkward smile.
Perhaps my incessant hand gestures while speaking.
These are what people bring up to me the most.

The Road, The Crossing, pretty much anything Cormack McCarthy puts out. Philip K. Dick, Isaac Asimov, Chuck Palahnuik, Douglas Adams, Arthur C. Clarke.

There are seriously too many movies to think of. I've had Netflix since 2007 so I've seen an inordinate amount of movies. I love hard sci-fi stuff, good clever and/or dark comedies, dry British humor, dramas that leave me feeling emotionally exhausted, gripping documentaries, cheesy B-movies that aren't supposed to be funny but are, unpredictably thrilling thrillers, those insane Korean movies, artsy bullshit, noir films, movies that elicit a physical response, and of course the occasional 'make me inhale popcorn' blockbuster.

Arrested Development, Dexter, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, Louie, Breaking Bad, Orange is the New Black, Mad Men, Walking Dead, The Office, Parks and Recreation (Ron Swanson is my hero), How the Universe Works, Mythbusters, Ted Talks, Through the Wormhole, Into the Universe, Cosmos. Stuff like that.

I'd have my music going all day if I could. I absolutely need it to study and read. I can't focus in the quiet. I like music that gives me goosebumps and makes my brain melt. Progressive metal is what I listen to the most. But on any given day I'll listen to rock, indie, punk, classical, opera, jazz, some older country music.

As for food, I'll try anything at least once. Bring on the crazy sea creatures.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A good pair of headphones
Great food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Anything science related. Just exactly how small I am compared to everything else around me. The universe is such an amazingly large place. Also, the things that are extra small. The way DNA works is totally amazing. You know we share 50% of our DNA with bananas. It's totally true! Things like atoms, subatomic particles, plank time, quantum foam, etc. I mean, why/how do these things even exist? It seriously blows my mind every time I think about it. Astrophysics is kind of a hobby for me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either out with friends, a concert/show, playing video games, studying, working, or just sitting on the couch spending hours trying to decide what to watch on Netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think turkey bacon is an abomination.
