My self-summary
I am in some ways very go-with-the flow, but in some ways not. When I am in a group, I don't make the decisions of what to do. I usually am very quiet.

I am loyal and not promiscuous, quirky and intellectual. I am not a partier, really. I am probably not the type to go bungee jumping.

One of my favorite quotations is from John Donne: "No man is an island, entire of itself". Poetry can be beautiful, but I don't really get the comment from my high school literature teacher to use words that give a thousand pictures.

I enjoy hikes in the woods, and kayaking. I used to play guitar in a mediocre way but pretty much gave up on that.

I tend to think in a literal way. Like the music arts (rock music, folk rock, some folk, and some country) and somewhat like visual arts (especially Vincent Van Gogh's paintings). I am terrible a creating arts, though; I couldn't write a good poem to save my life.

I tend to to over-think and analyze a lot :-).
What I’m doing with my life
Working while living life.

It would be nice to get a Masters degree some day in biology from GVSU, but I don't know if I will ever do it.
I’m really good at
Kissing, apparently.

Thinking outside the box. Reading people. And, I'm a compassionate person. Also, speaking my mind.
The first things people usually notice about me
My height (they think I'm a basketball player). Shy at first but open up very fast online.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Shakespeare's Othello and Kenneth Miller's Finding Darwin's God. Also, Michael Crichton's Sphere.

I loved Star Trek and Star Wars movies. Used to like As Good as It Gets, but that has run its course. Also, used 50 First Dates (but I've seen it almost 50 times); Along Came Polly

I was a big fan of Xena and Mad About You.

But, for both movies and TV shows, I rarely watch much these days except news.

Right now, it's U2, Sarah McLachlan, Suzanne Vega, Mumford & Sons, and Sugarland.

Pizza and almost anything Italian.
The six things I could never do without
1. Food
2. Water
3. Oxygen
4. Fellow humans
5. Access to the internet!
6. Bed (to sleep in - no I don't sleep around)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
This varies. Sometimes I think about such diverse biological topics as what biologically makes up a thought to evolution.

Sometimes I think about things that surprise, such as the fact that one girls I met on here had up had a percent match in the low 90's and we did not connect well at all, whereas another girl had a fairly low match -- in the low 60's -- and we connected very well.
On a typical Friday night I am
Right now I don't see Friday nights to be all that different from other nights. OVERNIGHT I am sleeping.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have, in the past mostly, struggled with anxiety and depression.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 26–46
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You want to! And, I might add, I am looking for someone who I think of as a fairly nice person.

You are the kind of person who doesn't care that I don't have a car....
