My self-summary
I am positively sarcastic, cheerfully profane, unrelentingly upbeat, flamboyantly nerdy, and have a chronic disability to take things seriously. I'd take something for it, but that'd require taking my ailment seriously.

Oh, and I have a fondness for long adjectives.
What I’m doing with my life
Seeing the world and having fun, before I *gasp* get OLD.

Bouncing around my apartment in Queens with my loud and demanding cat, Odin. He's a sweetie. Especially when I want to kick him.

Doing incredibly nerdy things, and enjoying myself far more than is proper. I'm shameless that way. And in others. Oh baby.

Oh, and when I'm not fucking about (which is rare), I work at a major news organization creating large websites for sports I don't really care about. But it's a challenge, and I love my work!
I’m really good at
Wandering three blocks in the wrong direction despite street signs, GPS, and common sense.

Managing to find the EXACT train that immediately breaks down in the tunnel, forcing me to be late and embarrassing myself. I swear, it's like magic.

Having conversations with the voices in my head. I'd say the old line about how it's they are crazy, not me... but that'd be a lie.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes. And then my smile. And yes, dimples can be manly. Shut up.

Actually, I have no fucking clue what people see first- it's not like they tell me? ...okay, except occasional comments about my ass. But I'm not sure that counts.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Hrm. Well, I prefer sci-fi and fantasy books almost exclusively- there's something about reading about a world limited only by the author's imagination that excites me. My favorite authors are Terry Pratchett, Peter F. Hamilton, Charles Stross, Neal Stephenson, and Neil Gaiman.

I really like Monty Python (nee!), Inception, Memento, Primer, and Fight Club. Basically, I love movies that are complicated and make you think- no romantic comedies here. Oh, and nearly anything Pixar, but that's pretty much a given.

Mostly I'm waiting impatiently for Doctor Who to start back up. Other than that, not much nowadays. For older stuff, I was a huggge BSG and Firefly fan, and was crazy enough to watch all 10 seasons of SG-1.

I don't play video games much nowadays, alas. But my all time favorites remain Alpha Centauri, Portal, Deus Ex, Half Life, and Minecraft. I also play a ridiculous amount of live action roleplaying games- I guess I never grew up, as I still play make-believe, heh.

I prefer alternative rock and metal, especially bands with a classical influence. Some favorites include Five Finger Death Punch, Machinae Supremacy, Epica, and Nightwish. Oh, and I've been listening to Comatose by Aryeon over and over lately.

I love food, the more exotic and spicy the better. The strangest thing I can recall I've had off the top of my head is probably fermented tofu noodles, which were delicious but the smell was a bit... off. I'm still exploring, though. I'm happy I moved to an ethnic neighborhood, so I am busy sampling pretty much everything.
The six things I could never do without
- NYC: while other places are fun, I can never live anywhere else.
- My incredibly dorky friends, as they kinda rock.
- Books!
- The Internet.
- My phone- not entirely sure how I lived without one.
- Self happiness.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I tend to bounce around a lot, but some random thoughts as of late:
- Where I'll be travelling to this year. I'm 90% certain I'm doing Iceland and England, but I'd like another stop- Amsterdam? Dublin? I don't know...! #firstworldproblems
- Where technology is leading us, and the current fight with legacy media gatekeepers versus consumer choice. I'd be interested in debating this with someone! Although I've seen few people who'd disagree with me on here.
- The eternal debate between my diet and pancakes.
- Why I don't have many decent pictures of me smiling.
- What the hell I'm going to do with that 3D printer I bought.
On a typical Friday night I am
Partying, getting a drink with friends, out doing gaming, or just chilling at home. I think I watch far too many YouTube videos than is healthy or sane.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I liked the last episode of the Battlestar Galactica remake. Please don't hate me. But not LOST- there's a level to my insanity, and it doesn't reach THAT.

I once was in a pillow fort with someone who looked EXACTLY like David Tennant. And he was naked.

Oh, and I have one tattoo, and it's as dorky as I am. No regrets, though.
