Your Notes
Edit your notesI am crafty, quirky, and smart.
My Self-Summary
So, about me... I am smart and don't hide it. People (guys) tend to find me intimidating, I think because I'm quite tall and I don't dumb myself down for people and I speak my mind. I can talk about myself for forever, but I prefer when people can hold up their end of a conversation. If you've ever been told that the way to a girls heart is to just keep her talking about herself, that doesn't really work on me.
I'm mostly just a student at WWU, but I'm working on making more of a life outside of school. I'm really indecisive, so I can't decide which veterinary clinic I should do my job shadowing at. So that extension of my non-school life has so far failed.
I'm pretty sarcastic but I'm working on toning it down, or at least blunting the sharpness a bit. So if I say something that seems kind of snarky, I trying for funny.
I'm a pretty open girl, so drop me a line if there is something you want to know about me.
What I’m doing with my life
Long story short, I'll either be an English Teacher or a Veterinarian. Probably. At this point in time, I'm leaning towards vet (otherwise what am I taking all this science for?)
Besides school, I'm also raising a puppy who will be trained as a service dog. My job is to socialize her and do basic training. My service-puppy and I recently went to the Woodland Park Zoo and it was ridiculously awesome (lions and simamangs and gorillas, oh my!) Ask me about it, if you are interested in semi-nonsensical ramblings about hungry lions and scaredy-gorillas.
I'm also thinking about training my other dog as a therapy dog, like the kind you take to old folks homes, or have kids read to at the library.
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I read all the time. I like all sorts of different books, different authors, different genres. The following are in no sort of order, they are just connected by their awesomawsity:
Harry Potter(s), Ender's Game, Pride and Prejudice (and anything else by Jane Austen), The Thief of Time (and anything else by Terry Pratchett), Alice in Wonderland, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Tamora Pierce books, Jurassic Park, Just Ella, Ella Enchanted, The Bunny Suicides, Why Girls are Weird, October Sky, Feeling Sorry for Celia, Angus Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging, A Walk to Remember, Prince Alberic and the Snake Lady (and anything else by Vernon Lee), How to Boil a Flamingo, Gregory McGuire books, The Cartoon History of the Universe... As you can tell, the list is endless.
-Movies-
I'll admit that I like chick flicks, but generally not the sappy sort. I do not like horror movies, they give my imagination too much material.
Love Actually, Catch and Release, Wizard People Dear Reader, The Story of Greg the Grandiose, Remember the Titans, The Notebook, Disturbia, Role Models, Hairspray, Rent, Stranger than Fiction, Newsies, Emperor's New Groove, Kung Fu Panda...
-Music-
I love to listen to the oldies station on the radio. I also heart musicals and Disney music and soundtracks. All that amounts to is that we never listen to my music when I'm hanging out with friends or family.
Jonathan Coulton, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Jamie Lidel, Beatles, B52s, Cake, Flight of the Conchords, Ingrid Michaelson, Jack Johnson, Jason Castro, Raphael Saadiq, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Vampire Weekend, Wicked Tinkers...
The six things I could never do without
- Books
- My dogs
- Friends
- Craft supplies
- Sun
- Heat - I hate being cold
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Assuming I am in school, I think about how awesome it would be to still be asleep (who in their right mind takes an 8am class?)
Then there is the time spent thinking about school. But that tends to freak me out a little (the prospect of undergrad for 3 more years, most of it being science, etc), so I try to limit my school thinking time. When it comes to registration and things of that sort, I try not to think about it until next to the absolute last minute.
If I haven't crafted anything in a while, I think about the projects I could do. If I just got done making a bunch of stuff, I think about how much work crafting is and how much that sucks.
