Waaay too many books
!! A few
books I can name off the top of my head are 'The Hot Zone,' the
first two 'Dexter
books by Jeff Lindsay (didn't bother with the third as I heard it
wasn't as good), all of the books by James Herriot, 'The Nudist on
the Late Shift: and other Tales of the Silicon Valley,' 'Why Do I
Love These People? Understanding Surviving, and creating your own
family,' 'What Should I Do With My Life?,' all by Po Bronson.
"Kitchen Confidential" by Anthony Bourdain. Dewey' and
'Stiff' by Mary Roach. If you have a weak stomach DO NOT READ THIS
BOOK!! "Bonk" was as equally hilarious and squirm inducing. I've
also read the biography of "Avatar" director James Cameron "The
Futurist," "Nickeled and Dimed" a truly frightening look at how
it's impossible to get by on a minimum wage job, and "The Gerbil
Farmer's Daughter," a funny memoir by author Holly Robinson. Then
there was "Medium Raw" by Anthony Bourdain.
"I'm Feeling Lucky: Confessions of Google Employee #59." "World War
Z" and "The Zombie Survival Guide."
"World War Z" was pretty good!
"Waiter Rant" and "Salt A World History."
"The Lab Rat Chronicles." Amazing how a group of lab rats was
taught how to write!
Even more amazing was how teeny tiny keyboards were created for
them. Later on those same rats were found using the internet
connection intended for their 'blog to surf for "rat porn."
They became enraged when the closest thing they could find were
episodes of "Pinky and the Brain" on YouTube.
Now they're fomenting revolution based on the manifestos of the
late Chuck E. Cheese.
Just finished reading Mary Roach's latest book "Gulp."
As for movies I too, have too many to name a particular one as a
favorite. I like everything from "When Harry Met Sally" to
"It's A Wonderful Life!" to "Airplane!" From "The Blues Brothers",
to "Shall We Dance?" (the original Japanese version, not the god
awful remake with Jennifer Lopez. *WHY* does she still get acting
gigs!?) "Superman the movie" "Raiders of the Lost Ark" "Groundhog
Day" "Iron Man" the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy
"Star Wars" trilogy, the originals not the god awful so called
"The Full Monty" especially the final scene where the guys put on
their show. Brings out the inner male stripper in me!
"The Bourne Identity" "Fight Club" "The Iron Giant" "District 9"
"Star Trek" "Zombieland" "The Wizard of OZ" "Little Voice" (An
extremely sweet and charming movie.) "Pan's Labyrinth" "Slum Dog
Millionare" "The Prestige" "Inception" "Toy Story 3" "The
Some TV shows that I like are "Dr. Who.", "Rescue Me," "CSI Crime
Scene Investigation", "Battlestar Galactica", "Globe Trekker",
"NOVA", "The Office", "My Name Is Earl", "Arrested Development",
"SurvivorMan", "24", and "30 Rock" to name a few. "Extras" and
"Weeds." "Breaking Bad" (LOVE IT!!) "MYTHBUSTERS" "The Walking
Music wise I have eclectic tastes there as well. My tastes go from
one day to Classic Rock
the next. From
movie Soundtracks to Frank Sinatra and The Beatles.
Food, hey I'll eat just about anything!! Except liver, never really
developed a taste for it. To me, it's as though I were licking some
I LOVE SUSHI
!! If I
could, I'd eat it all day long. That is when I'm not eating
something like Falafel, Indian food, or some really good
*Food* that is, I'm not a cannibal. Going back to the sushi thing,
one time a friend took me out for my b-day and I ate anything and
everything he and his wife put in front of me. I even tried the
deep fried shrimp heads.
Then again, he'd also been pouring me one sake after
I know this space is supposed to be about books, movies, and food
but I also adore cats
. I love dogs too but many years ago
had a couple kitties adopt me. What is it with most guys not liking
I'm also into animation, here are a few *very* clever shorts I've
