My self-summary
NOTE: I'm just looking for friends right now. Preferably female friends.

I love learning. I want to know and understand everything. I want to be able to build or fix anything. I love literature and the arts as well as super-practical things. I double majored in philosophy and art, but sometimes I wish I'd majored in physics. Or economics. Or everything. Yeah, I wish I'd majored in everything.
What I’m doing with my life
In the immediate future, I am pursuing a career as a paralegal. I would like to go to law school or graduate school when the economy is more stable. Currently, my long-term goal is to be a consumer advocate, but my long-term goals tend to change every few years.

I'm a lot less boring than that makes me sound. EDIT: Upon further review, I am actually pretty boring.
I’m really good at
Analyzing everything, but then being really silly about it.

I'm really bad at video games.
The first things people usually notice about me
I cut off my giant hair, so probably my freckles now.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My current musical fixation is Andrew Bird, but I like a lot of things, such as Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Wilco, Feist, REM, Iron & Wine, Janelle Monae, mewithoutYou, St. Vincent, and The National.

I don't read as much as I would like, and lately, I've just been reading boring legal stuff. But I mostly like to read fantasy/sci-fi and critical theory. I'm currently reading Doctor Sleep and The Psychopath Test.

I don't watch that much television, but I like Doctor Who. For movies, I really like basically any film by Ingmar Bergman, Hayao Miyazaki, or Terrance Malick. I just finished the Evangelion reboot, and I much prefer the original.

I only eat coconut macaroons and ginger ale. This is because I am a fairy.
The six things I could never do without
1. Coffee.
2. A kitchen.
3. Ways to learn. Books, internet, radio, whatever.
4. Time to process everything.
5. The company of those who trust and respect me enough to let me make my own decisions.
6. Forgiveness, kindness, compassion, all those things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Food safety. Tiny houses. TV shows I would love to watch that will never be made. How badly I wish I had a food truck that sold gluten-free donuts.

Balance: The balance between freedom and responsibility. The balance between caring about people and letting them be their own persons. The balance between not taking shit from anyone and giving everyone a chance to grow and change. I have two cats named Justice and Mercy; this is probably the best illustration of everything I just said.

Compassion, kindness, and empathy are the traits I value most in a human being. Such people are the ones I seek to emulate and fill my life with.

Also I spend a lot of time thinking about how to survive the apocalypse. If you think I'm joking: I'm not joking.

Lastly, I spend a decent amount of time thinking about how I can become Annie Clark.
On a typical Friday night I am
Reading. Or dancing around alone, in my underwear, in my bedroom.

I can't really handle loud music or flashing lights. I spend most of my time by myself. I really enjoy it.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I still sleep with a stuffed animal.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 21–30
  • Near me
  • For new friends
You should message me if
you want to help me immigrate to Sweden (I'm only like 35% joking)

There are lots of really great ways to be a human being, but there are a handful of things I really don't want in my life. I'm not saying you can't do them! I just don't like them. So let's do this the other way around.

First of all, do NOT message me if you are going to give me anything that could be construed as an order or a command. I don't take orders from persons who are not my boss. If you feel entitled to give orders to women you don't know, you probably have a problem. I have to say this because it's happened a lot, and that's just not acceptable.

Also, please DON'T message me if you are going to call me adorable. I know I look somewhat younger than I am, but I take great issue with the fetishization of underage girls. I'm a grown woman. If you think I am attractive purely because I look like a minor, I do not want to talk to you.

No MRAs or libertarians. Ever.

Please do NOT message me if you are a smoker, unless all you want to do is communicate electronically (which is fine). I am very allergic to tobacco. Not passing any personal judgments here. I just prefer breathing.

Don't message me if you're a military guy, unless you absolutely hated it. It's totally your right to do that and be proud of it. I'm just not into it.

Don't message me if you actively follow comedians who make jokes about marginalized or oppressed groups. It's not funny. It's not edgy. It's the most mainstream thing you can say.

I don't want to talk to you if you're married or 40 or older. The only exception to this is Andrew Bird. If you're Andrew Bird, please message me.

If you like to eat at restaurants frequently, we're just not going to get along. I can't do that. I have to know every ingredient in my food because of my allergies. My life is slightly more difficult than the average person in this regard. I totally understand if you can't deal with that. I wish I could walk away from it, too.

Finally, I don't hang out with men who own guns. This is NOT AN INVITATION FOR YOU TO TRY TO DISCUSS THIS POINT WITH ME. You're free to own a gun. I'm free to say I don't want to be around you if you do. If you try to argue with me about this, I will block you.
