My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I think. I sometimes think too much.
I work. I'm trying to break the habit of working too much.
I have a car, and a motorcycle. I want an airplane (seriously, the kind I can fly myself around in)..that's part of why I work too much.
I don't fit anywhere on the political spectrum.
I want to move to Alaska someday, at least for awhile. I would also like to spend time on some other continents.
I believe persuasion is morally superior to force.
I like good beer. IPA and Porter as favorites.
I like seafood, and garlic, and rare steaks. And kale. I don't ask that you share my love of kale but it's a plus.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am trying to travel more...went to Alaska in 2011 which was awesome. Need to do more of that.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Software engineering :-)

OK, not job related...probably writing. I'm actually more of a generalist by nature though. I can play a guitar, cook a meal, photograph a landscape, sail a boat, build a bookcase, etc., all with good results, but I wouldn't say I'm really good.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My shoes? At least when I wear my Vibram Five Fingers.

I'd like to think it's my ideas and how I communicate them. In reality it's probably my lack of fashion sense.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: A big swath of the sci-fi genre. I also accumulate technical and specialized reference books.

TV: I'm not a regular TV watcher but I've seen every episode of: Buffy, Futurama, South Park, The Simpsons up to about season 20, Game of Thrones, and Firefly. As a kid I watched hours and hours of NOVA and similar. I don't have anything against TV, per se, but if I make it too easy I'll watch it too much.

Movies: I still like Fight Club but 12 Monkeys and Being John Malkovich are good runners up. I like horror-comedy more than outright horror. Sci-fi is my favorite genre but hold the unobtanium. I'm one of the 17 people who enjoyed Gattica. Fantasy can be cool but most fantasy movies are aimed at 12 year old boys and I'm mentally at least 15.

Music...there isn't enough room on this page.

As for food I like it spicy and real (natural vegetables, natural meat).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
New experiences/adventures, challenges, a musical instrument (guitar for preference), some way of writing, something to read, and freedom.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything. Mainly how to make things better. And how to take taking things less seriously seriously.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Stuck in traffic
