My self-summary
Surgeon, everyday adventurer, foodie, cultural explorer: That’s me.

I love red wine, a good Manhattan, barbecue brisket, Asian cuisine and anything spicy. A fun date might be an exhaustive search for the perfect gnocchi. After all, lots of taste-testing is involved… My friends and I take turns hosting dinners accompanied by lots of wine and bubbly.

If you think chivalry is dead, you’ve just been seeing the wrong guys. I open doors, always go second and believe in the importance of respect. I’m still a guy, of course, so I hope you’re up for football with the guys and the occasional wings-and-beer night.

So who am I looking for? A woman with independence, ambition and a passion for doing good in the world. I am looking for an alpha. Someone who’s courageous, driven, sassy and adventurous but grounded — a combination of Midwestern values and California attitude. Someone who understands when plans change at the last minute, as they often do with my work. Someone who challenges me with sarcasm that rivals my own. I want someone who knows that love — for family, friends, humanity — is more important than anything else. Family is extremely important to me, and I hope to have one of my own someday.

In general, I’m a good listener and honest to a fault. I’ve been told I’m warm and have a calming voice; that can’t be bad, right? It means I will be there to hear you, talk with you and make you feel like you’re the only woman in the world. I'm also a goof and promise to make you laugh.

Sometimes, though, it’s not all that complicated and just comes down to chemistry and timing. If you like Jazz, sushi, football and a good show or musical, let’s talk!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a cancer surgeon with a secret desire to be a chef, either way, I'm good with a knife. Seriously, I love my job and still smile every day when I walk into the office.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at useless trivia. I am also very handy in the kitchen and planning impromptu road trips to Napa and Tahoe.
The first things people usually notice about me
Would have to be my smile and sense of confidence.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, The Tragically Hip, jazz (Miles, Sonny, Ella), Eminem, Silver sun pickups, Mumford and Sons, will.i.am, Lumineers, just to name a few. I rock out to good dance and anything from Deadmau5, Calvin Harris and just discovered shogun (check him out if you like a good beat).

Movies: Princess Bride, Love actually, Stranger than Fiction, Godfather (1 & 2 only, 3 was a miss), Power of One, Sci Fi Flicks, Ocean's Eleven, The Hangover, Matrix (only the first, the others don't count), Bond, and all action movies in general.

Food: wine is a food group right? Seriously. All things seafood (if you like oysters and lobster rolls you're golden), Mexican, steak and Italian. Oh, and I have a sweet tooth and not afraid to admit it.

Books: My tastes in literature are all over the map. I love the classics (Bronte, Dickens), the scientific (Dune), the economic (anything Gladwell) and just started Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.

Places: Heavenly, Napa/Yountville, Vail, Anywhere with a beach and warm water, planning my first trip to Australia
The six things I could never do without
1) My friends and family
2) My dog (a close tie with number 1, shh, don't tell him)
3) great food especially with great wine
4) hot coffee first thing in the morning
5) laughter
6) my iPhone
I spend a lot of time thinking about
where I want to go with my life, why we haven't met yet, why my dog chases his shadow, why I don't like Seinfeld (what am I missing people?), why lobsters taste so good, when's my next trip to wine country... I think a lot.
On a typical Friday night I am
Could be out finding a new restaurant or cooking with friends experimenting with a new recipe. Both scenarios involve lots of laughs, smiles and vino.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
This needs an in person meeting and a glass of wine, perhaps a bottle.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–32
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
Because meeting new people is fun, and everyone needs more fun. On a more serious note, message me if you believe in balance, growing as a person and as a part of something bigger than yourself, if you value building community, if you enjoy travel, sharing great meals and finding new adventures.
