My self-summary
Well I just turned 22 but I don't feel like it's hit me yet. Wherever I've been I've always been the youngest and I'm sure when I enter the workforce that won't change either. I guess I'm used to it by now. Anyway, I graduated from college in May and after 4 agonizing months of unemployment will begin my new job in November. Looking back I wonder what would have been if I had decided to travel this summer but then again maybe I wouldn't be employed. I've been really, really, really, really, fortunate to travel to a lot of places around the world from the Caribbean, Spain (2x), Morocco, Mexico to most recently Vietnam, Cambodia and Japan. I don't know when my next opportunity to travel will be but I definitely know that where I want to go is either Brazil, Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic. Upon a first encounter with me I might come across as quiet and shy. I guess that's because I'm initially cautious. But, like a good car during the winter, I'll warm up in time.

I am relaxed, easy-going, and a dry humorist
What I’m doing with my life
Getting ready for the real world. T-18 days until I begin my life in the professional world. Oh yeah and still keeping up with my salsa and volunteering.

Eventually I hope to be writing about sports for a major journalism source.
I’m really good at
I guess the things that I think I'm pretty good at are discussion, cooking, finding the right jazz music to listen to and playing sports. I should probably add that I enjoy exploring all sides of an arguement, not just the side(s) that seem so obvious.

Update: Exploring aspects of cultures from all over the globe.
The first things people usually notice about me
reserved, thoughtful, considerate, calculated, silly, patient, at times unpredictable, engaging, attentive but I've had my flake moments.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A. I don't think there's any particular work by John Grisham that stands above the rest so I guess anything that he's written you'll find on my bookshelf. The Boondocks (I know it's not a book per se but you still have to read it!), books on Black ppl issues, current events, history, etc.

B. My favorite movie is Rush Hour. I definitely enjoy a deep movie (no horror though. Isn't life scary enough?)but gimme a simple laugh and I'm content. Others worthy of mention are: She Hate Me, Sideways, The Rock, U-571, any of the latest James Bond movies, Love & Basketball, Crash, Wedding Crashers, Psycho, Strangers on a Train, Man on Fire, Goodfellas, Boyz 'N the Hood, Do The Right Thing, Untouchables, Sandlot, and the list goes on...

C. I'll break this down by genres and artists. GENRES: jazz (fav. song - "The Groove" by Rodney Franklin) , salsa (fav. song - "Que Le Den Candela" by Celia Cruz), merengue (fav. song - "Yo Me Muero Por Ella" by Tono Rosario), brazilian (fav. song - "Quilombo" by Gilberto Gil), world (fav. song - "Bamboleo" by The Gipsy Kings) - those are the favorites. Gospel's creeping up in there too I guess even though I'm not terribly religious. R&B, Soul, Neo-Soul are probably slightly behind. Really there's no category I hate though all the others I'll hear them in moderation.

ARTISTS (in no particular order of preference): 2Pac, ATCQ, Amerie, Anita Baker, Bebel Gilberto, Billy Joel, BLACK EYED PEAS!, Bob Marley, BUSTA!, AZUCAR!, CHRIS BOTTI!, DMX!, ELLA!, GANGSTARR! (GURU) (whatever you want to call him), GEORGE BENSON!, Gilberto Gil, GIPSY KINGS!!!, Grover Washington, Immortal Technique, India Arie, JAMIROQUAI!, JAY-Z!, Jill Scott, MARC ANTOINE!, MICHAEL JACKSON!, Nate Dogg, Notorious B.I.G., Outkast, PHARRELL!!, R.Kelly, Rah Digga (and the rest of Flipmode Squad), The Rippingtons, Rueben Blades, SADE!, Sean Paul, SERGIO MENDES! (Timeless is one of the best music purchases I have ever made!), SNOOP D O DOUBLE!!, STEVIE WONDER!, Timbaland, TITO PUENTE!!, Toni Braxton, TYE TRIBBETT!!!, and numerous others...

Music Update: Right now I'm working on expanding my World section. Currently I'm exploring the Asia/Middle East region of the world so shout if you know of something good!

D. Indian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, there's a whole lot of things that I could enjoy.
The six things I could never do without
1)Food, especially chicken, but really BBQ chicken. 2)Sports without a question. 3)Jazz and my growing love for salsa & merengue. 4)A good book that touches on law, history or conflict. 5)My New York Mets. Yeah It's that serious. 6)My level demeanor.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Sports, definitely sports but also what's going on in our world today. From breakthroughs in medical research to international conflicts I like to stay on top of all bases.Oh yeah. I should probably add my dream retirement house on the beach somewhere in the Caribbean.
On a typical Friday night I am
Depends. If my friends want to hit the clubs I'm all for it. If it's a good concert I'll be there too. I have no problem stayin in and hangin if nothing's really all that exciting. I guess I'm not that much of a bar hopper right now but I'm working on it.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I know how to swim fairly well but somehow, I can't manage to tread water to save my life.
