I am silly, optimistic, and fireproof.

My Self-Summary

I'm a chef in Manhattan - I have a fairly unconventional schedule...scratch that, I have a VERY unconventional schedule, and I spend entirely too much time at "the office". On days off I like being outdoors as much as possible, and I like making it up as I go... I'm a fan of dive bars, establishments of questionable repute, live music, dancing in inappropriate places, Korean karaoke and eclectic beer selections. I have a hard time taking myself too seriously but I act like a grownup when necessary and/or appropriate. I love to cook for friends (even better if they do the dishes). I also have a fascination with foods on sticks and think there should be more of them.

I'm equal parts Canadian and hillbilly, and I grew up between Texas and Virginia. I can catch a fish and ride a horse, but I clean up nicely. I have an amazing family.

I'm kind of a nerd and a little bit of a tomboy. Video games that involve undersized plastic instruments are hilarious, and I'm a font of useless trivia knowledge...and I'm boring myself, so onward...

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a chef. I'm probably a better cook than your mom.
I'm a white chick from Texas in charge of a Southeast Asian kitchen where all the cooks are Mexican and the busboys are Bengali. I love New York.

I’m really good at

Cooking, dancing badly, being a smartass, athletic endeavors, playing dress-up, making people laugh, motivating others, giving great advice to people that I don't follow myself, being a good sister and aunt, finding the good in a bad situation, retaining useless knowledge and potentially offensive jokes, playing instruments by ear, actively listening, laughing at myself, and creative uses of bacon.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm approachable and laugh easily. Hopefully that and not a ketchup stain on my shirt. And I often smell like garlic after work. I should probably not have mentioned that last part.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I am in the process of trying to gather my thoughts enough to fill up this box again, as I impulsively deleted the whole thing when I realized I haven't updated my profile since approximately when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

The six things I could never do without

Six is entirely too limiting, there is no way I can even touch this one. ADD is fun. I like to cook. Want to go ride bikes?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Why there are 792 ingredients in a bottle of juice.

On a typical Friday night I am

Ideally getting up to no good with friends or enjoying good company, but in reality I'm working because everyone else is out eating.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

One of my first words was "shit". I was a classy toddler.

You should message me if

You're looking to make a new friend, want to share great spots in the city, have a sense of adventure, think beer is awesome, enjoy absurdity... for whatever reason you want to after reading my ridiculous profile
